Kedah, also known by its honorific Darul Aman and historically as Queda, is a state of Malaysia, located in the northwestern part of Peninsular Malaysia. The state covers a total area of over 9,000 km2, and it consists of the mainland and the Langkawi islands. The mainland has a relatively flat terrain, which is used to grow rice, while Langkawi is an archipelago, most of which are uninhabited islands.

Sultan Ismail Petra ibni Almarhum Sultan Yahya Petra was the 28th Sultan of Kelantan and the 11th Sultan of Modern Kelantan who reigned from 30 March 1979 to 13 September 2010. He succeeded on the death of his father, Sultan Yahya Petra. Sultan Ismail Petra died at the Royal Ward Raja Perempuan Zainab II Hospital in Kota Bharu on 28 September 2019, aged 69, after 10 years of suffering from a massive stroke and was buried at the Kelantan Royal Mausoleum. He was succeeded by his eldest son, Sultan Muhammad V who ascended the throne on 13 September 2010.

Gua Musang is a town, district and parliamentary constituency in southern Kelantan, Malaysia. It is the largest district in Kelantan. Gua Musang is administered by the Gua Musang District Council. Gua Musang district is bordered by the state of Pahang to the south, Terengganu to the east, Perak to the west and the Kelantanese districts of Kuala Krai and Jeli to the north. It is a small railway town about 140 km south of state capital Kota Bharu. Gua Musang is represented by Mohd Azizi Abu Naim in the Dewan Rakyat. The MCKK Premier 7's 2014 was the fourth edition of the annual, invitational Malay College Rugby Premier Sevens, which involved teams from Malaysia premier schools, states champions and international schools. It was scheduled from 28 February till 2 March 2014. For the fourth edition of the Tournament, the number of international teams invited has increased from three teams in the previous Tournament to five teams. This year, teams from New Zealand and South Africa, two Test Playing Rugby Nations, will feature for the first time in the Tournament together with debutant Singapore. Thailand and Hong Kong will also be returning this year. The tournament is also on the verge of being recognized by International Rugby Board with help by Malaysian Rugby Union. The tagline for this tournament is "Premiering Talent and Sportsmanship". Initially, Brunei Sports School were confirmed of participating the events before pulling out in the final minute.

It was scheduled from 28 February through 1 March 2020. Three international teams were initially scheduled to participate but cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. English College Johore Bahru won the tournament for the first time since the competition inception.
