Lush 99.5FM was an English-language radio station in Singapore. Owned by the state-owned broadcaster Mediacorp, it broadcast an eclectic format with a particular focus on local and indie music, alternative rock, urban adult contemporary, and electronic music.
The station launched 31 December 2004; MediaCorp stated that Lush would focus on "trendsetting" and "new-age contemporary" music, including chill-out and nu jazz. The station would broadcast from 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 a.m. daily. [2] On 20 January 2005, the station expanded to 24-hour broadcasting. [3]
On 20 August 2009, the station relocated from Caldecott Hill to studios at Orchard Central. [4] [5] On 7 July 2012; the station moved back to Caldecott Hill.
Every week, various guest DJs would be invited on The Lush Mix, which airs on Saturdays from 8pm and repeats on weekdays from 9pm.
After having been Mediacorp's lowest-rated radio station for several years, Lush was shut down on 1 September 2017. Mediacorp stated that it wanted to concentrate its efforts on its other English-language stations, and that Lush's remit of showcasing local music would be supplanted by the company-wide "Singapore Sounds" initiative. The station studio is located within Mediacorp Campus at 1 Stars Avenue.
GOLD 905 is an English radio station of Mediacorp in Singapore. It broadcasts classic hits from the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s. Their DJs include Brian Richmond, who has more than 40 years of experience in the radio industry. It is one of the nation's oldest stations, tracing its origins back to the beginning of regulated radio broadcasting in Singapore/Straits Settlements along with Warna 942, Capital 958 and Oli 968 on 1 March 1937. Gold 905 was officially similar and related to BBC Radio 2 after BBC Empire Service.
