Nantucket is an island about 30 miles (48 km) south from Cape Cod. Together with the small islands of Tuckernuck and Muskeget, it constitutes the Town and County of Nantucket, a combined county/town government in the state of Massachusetts.

The Maria Mitchell Observatory in Nantucket, Massachusetts, USA, was founded in 1908 and named in honor of Maria Mitchell, the first American woman astronomer. It is a major component of the Maria Mitchell Association. The Observatory actually consists of two observatories - the main Maria Mitchell Observatory near downtown Nantucket and the Loines Observatory about a kilometer west of town. It is also the repository for a valuable collection of over 8000 wide-field glass photographic plates, recording observations of large swaths of sky from 1913 to 1995.
The Woods Hole, Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket Steamship Authority, doing business as The Steamship Authority (SSA), is the statutory regulatory body for all ferry operations between mainland Massachusetts and the islands of Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket, as well an operator of ferry services between the mainland and the islands. It is the only ferry operator to carry automobiles to and from the islands. The Authority also operates several freight vessels, thus serving as the main link for shipping any commercial goods that are not transported using the airports on Nantucket or Martha's Vineyard.
Nantucket High School is a public high school in Nantucket, Massachusetts, United States. It is the only high school on the island of Nantucket. The school serves students in grades 9–12 and has an approximate enrollment of 530 students. The school colors are Navy Blue and White, and the mascot is Hank the Harpoon Man, whose name was chosen by the students in 2013.

The Iloilo Mission Hospital, also known as Central Philippine University–Iloilo Mission Hospital, CPU–Iloilo Mission Hospital, CPU–IMH, or IMH, is a private tertiary, academic, and teaching hospital in Jaro, Iloilo City, Philippines. Established in 1901 by American missionary doctor Joseph Andrew Hall, it is the oldest American and Protestant-founded hospital in the country. In 1905, it was named Sabine Haines Memorial Union Mission Hospital through a grant from Charles Haines. It became the first hospital for soldiers and constabulary during the American regime and later changed its name to Union Mission Hospital in 1907 when the Baptists joined the Presbyterians in administering the hospital. It was ceded to the American Baptist Foreign Mission Society in 1925 and moved to its present site in the City of Jaro in 1931, becoming the Iloilo Mission Hospital in 1932.
