Jean-Philippe "J. P." Darche is a former American football long snapper. He was signed and drafted by the Toronto Argonauts in 1999. He played CIS football at McGill.

On February 17, 2015, Hilaire was named the 21st head coach of the McGill Redmen football team.
McConnell Arena is an ice hockey arena located on the corner of Pine Avenue and Park Avenue right beside Mount Royal in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. The arena is owned and operated by McGill University, and is the home to the McGill Redbirds men's and McGill Martlets women's ice hockey teams. The ice surface is the standard North American size, 61 metres long by 26 metres (85 feet) wide.
The McGill Redbirds football team represents McGill University athletics teams in U Sports and is based in Montreal, Quebec. The program is one of the oldest in all of Canada, having begun organized competition in 1874. The team won its first collegiate championship in 1902 and also won in 1912, 1913, 1919, 1928, 1938 and 1960 prior to the inauguration of the Vanier Cup in 1965. McGill appeared in the Vanier Cup final in 1969, 1973 and 1987, with the Redmen finally winning the title in the 1987 game. McGill plays out of Percival Molson Memorial Stadium, where the Canadian Football League's Montreal Alouettes also play.

The team played only two intercollegiate games, both against the team from McGill University in Cambridge, with one game ending in a Harvard victory and the other ending in a scoreless tie. The first game was played under Harvard's rules, while the second game played using McGill's rules on May 15, 1874, was the first rugby-style football game played in the United States. The team captain was Henry R. Grant.

James Walter Mitchener was a Canadian football player who played for the Calgary Stampeders, Montreal Alouettes, and BC Lions. He won the Grey Cup with the Stampeders in 1948. Mitchener played junior football with the McGill University Redmen. Mitchener resided in South Carolina and was one of the last surviving members of the 1948 Grey Cup championship team. After graduating from both McGill University and McGill Medical School, Mitchener worked as a pathologist at University Hospital for many years where he helped establish the Epidemiology Department. Early in his career, he taught Pathology at the Medical College of Georgia. Mitchener retired from Port Huron Hospital. Mitchener died on January 31, 2017.

The Quebec Student Sport Federation teams played an hour later with the Laval Rouge et Or visiting the Sherbrooke Vert et Or and the McGill Redmen playing the Montreal Carabins. The Ontario University Athletics teams began play on August 25, 2018 and the Canada West teams opened their season one week later on August 31, 2018.
Shaquille Johnson is a Canadian football wide receiver for the BC Lions of the Canadian Football League (CFL). Johnson ran a 4.39 time at the 40-yard dash at a regional CFL combine before being drafted by the Lions in the fourth round of the 2016 CFL Draft.
