The East Galway by-election, 1890 was a parliamentary by-election held for the United Kingdom House of Commons constituency of East Galway on 14 May 1890. The vacancy arose because of the death of the sitting member, Matthew Harris of the Irish Parliamentary Party. Only one candidate was nominated, John Roche of the Irish Parliamentary Party, who was elected unopposed. [1] [2]

The 1906 North Galway by-election was held on 28 February after the MP elected in the general election in January 1906, Thomas Higgins, died before his election declaration at the 1906 general election.
