The 1897 Cork Senior Football Championship was the 11th staging of the Cork Senior Football Championship since its establishment by the Cork County Board in 1887.

Dohenys won the championship following a 0–05 to 0–04 defeat of Kanturk in a replay of the final at Cork Park. [2] It remains their only championship title.

Dohenys is a Gaelic Athletic Association club, fielding Gaelic football and hurling teams in the town of Dunmanway, County Cork, Ireland. It won its only Cork Senior Club Football Championship in 1897. Other titles won include 2 Cork Intermediate Football Championships in 1972 and 1995, and 3 Cork Junior Football Championships in 1935, 1966, and 1993. In 2007, the club won its first ever county hurling championship when it won the Cork Junior B Hurling Championship. The club is part of the Carbery division of Cork.
