Welcome to the N.H.K. is a Japanese novel written by Tatsuhiko Takimoto. It was published by Kadokawa Shoten in Japan in January 2002, and in English by Tokyopop in October 2007. The story revolves around Tatsuhiro Sato, a 22-year-old hikikomori, an asocial recluse, who gets aid from a strange girl who seems to know a lot about him, despite never having met him before. Common themes throughout the story deal with depression, anxiety, isolation, existential dread, the hardships of life and how people must deal with them in their own way. The novel profusely analyzes the hikikomori phenomenon, which is relatively widespread in Japan.

Little Witch Academia is a Japanese anime franchise created by Yoh Yoshinari and produced by Trigger. Shomin Sample, short for Shomin Sample: I Was Abducted by an Elite All-Girls School as a Sample Commoner, is a Japanese light novel series by Takafumi Nanatsuki. It has been published by Ichijinsha since December 2011. Eleven volumes have been published. A manga adaptation began serialization in Ichijinsha's Comic Rex magazine in July 2012. A drama CD was released on February 20, 2013. The series follows Kimito Kagurazaka, an ordinary high school student abducted by an organization, and forced to enroll in a private academy for elite young ladies.

Aokana - Four Rhythms Across the Blue, known in Japan as Ao no Kanata no Four Rhythm, officially abbreviated as Aokana (あおかな) and translated as Four Rhythms Across the Blue, is a Japanese adult visual novel developed by Sprite and released for Windows on November 28, 2014. The game was ported to the PlayStation Vita, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch. The plot follows high school student Masaya Hinata as he coaches fellow students Asuka Kurashina, Misaki Tobisawa, Mashiro Arisaka, and Shion Aoyagi in the sport of "flying circus", wherein competitors travel through the sky via shoes with anti-gravity properties. Depending on the route taken, Masaya can enter a romantic relationship with either Asuka, Misaki, Mashiro, or Rika Ichinose, a student from a rival school and his neighbor.

<i>Assault Lily</i> Japanese media franchise

Assault Lily is a Japanese mixed-media franchise created by Azone International and Acus. It mainly consists of two lines of toy figurines titled Assault Lily and Custom Lily. The series takes a theme of combining "girls" and "weapons" and revolves around teenaged girls called "Lily" who have to fight against monsters called "Huge" using their weapon called "Charm". Two novels have been published; the first, titled Assault Lily ~Hitotsuyanagi-tai, Shutsugeki Shimasu!~ (アサルトリリィ~一柳隊、出撃します!~), was released in June 2015, and the second, titled Assault Lily Arms, was released in July 2017. Three stage plays based on the series have also been performed.

<i>Seirei Gensouki: Spirit Chronicles</i> Japanese light novel series and its adaptation(s)

Seirei Gensouki: Spirit Chronicles is a Japanese light novel series written by Yuri Kitayama and illustrated by Riv. It was serialized online between February 2014 and October 2020 on the user-generated novel publishing website Shōsetsuka ni Narō. It was later acquired by Hobby Japan, which has published the series under its HJ Bunko imprint since October 2015. A manga adaptation with art by tenkla was serialized online via Hobby Japan's Comic Fire website from October 2016 to February 2017, being discontinued because of the artist's poor health. A second manga adaptation with art by Futago Minaduki has been serialized online via the same website since July 2017. Both the light novel and the second manga have been licensed in North America by J-Novel Club. An anime television series adaptation by TMS Entertainment aired from July to September 2021. A second season premiered in October 2024.

Jill Harris is an American voice actress. She has been voice acting professionally since 2015 and received her first lead role with Naho Takamiya in Orange. Some of her other roles include Aura Bella Flora in Overlord, Fuuka Akitsuki in Fuuka, Noelle Silva in Black Clover, Mayaka Ibara in Hyouka, Shino "Mandalay" Sosaki in My Hero Academia, and Charlie Morningstar in the pilot episode of Hazbin Hotel. Harris is also the English dub voice of Kana Ichinose's characters such as Suletta Mercury in Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch From Mercury, Fern in Frieren, Sayu Ogiwara in Higehiro, Marlya Noel in Fairy Gone and Asuka Kurashina in Aokana - Four Rhythms Across the Blue.
