The 1927 KBUs Pokalturnering (Unofficial English translation: 1927 KBU Cup, 1927 Copenhagen Cup) was the 18th edition of the regional tournament, KBUs Pokalturnering, the highest senior cup competition organised by the Copenhagen FA (KBU). The tournament was held in the fall of 1927 with B.93 as the defending cup champions. The season was launched on 28 August 1927 with the two matches featuring three of the lowest placed league teams from the previous season. BK Frem won the 1927 edition by defeating the previous season's cup champions, Østerbro-based B.93, 3–2 in the final after 3–0 lead halfway through the second half and an overall even match, played at Københavns Idrætspark on 6 November 1927, which was the BK Frem's second cup title in the tournament after seven appearances in the finals. [2] [3] [4] The 8 participants in the tournament included the six members of the 1926–27 KBUs Mesterskabsrække and the two highest placed teams from the 1926–27 KBUs A-række.
The team line-up of Kjøbenhavns BK in the cup match against Akademisk BK consisted mostly of young and newly promoted senior players. [5] [6] [7] The winners, Handelsstandens BK, of the 1926–27 KBUs A-række, the second-tier league under the Kjøbenhavns Boldspil-Union, managed to get past the first round by defeating the runners-up of the Copenhagen second highest league, Østerbros BK, before eventually being eliminated by B.93 in the second round. [2] [4]
The first round match between Østerbros BK and Handelsstandens BK at Københavns Idrætspark (Idrætsparkens Fodboldbane), for the first time in Danish football, featured the squad numbers 1–22 on white squares, which were placed high on the back of all the outfield players and on the chest of the goalkeepers — numbers 1–11 were carried by the players of Handelsstandens BK, while numbers 12–22 were carried by the Østerbros BK players. [8] [9] [10] The reform experiment, receiving mixed reviews by the local newspapers, was meant as a service for the spectators nothing familiar with individual players, who were listed next to their numbers in the matchday programme. [8] [9] [10] [1] [11] The Nationaltidende's journalist argued that the numbers were too hard to spot on the players located farthest away and wearing long-striped jerseys using multiple colours. [1] The many double-digit numbers only made it harder to see, and 2 times 1–11 would suffice. [1] The writer for Berlingske Tidende deemed the experiment a success, finding that the numbers were large and clear and easy to read, requesting that the idea be tried again in front of a larger audience. [11] The usage of numbered player jerseys at an official Danish game took place shortly after the first attempt had been made at an unofficial preparation match in English football featured Chelsea F.C. players. The match was refereed by Lauritz Andersen (previously affiliated with BK Velo), who had previously refereed two quarterfinal matches in this season's cup tournament and previous season's cup final. [30] The final match was played at Københavns Idrætspark for the fifteenth time in the tournament's history, on 6 November 1927. The draw concerning the right to choose the starting half on the football field was won by BK Frem's captain Pauli Jørgensen, over the opposing team captain Fritz Tarp (B.93), selecting the goal facing the west side, towards Øster Allé — the choice did not play any significant role during the match as there were no considerable sunlight or wind. [30] The field was reportedly very soft and during the first half, a short-lived breeze fell. [30]
The match, which was delayed 5 minutes, started at a high pace. [30] The first goal was conceived after only 5 minutes by BK Frem's Svend Hansen, when his shot from the right side of the field hit the right goal post projecting inside the net just next to the left goalpost, outside the reach of the 93's goalkeeper, Svend Jensen. [30] The 1–0 lead energizes the BK Frem players, but several attempts do not materialise into an additional goal. [30] After getting an accident with his knee in the 11th minute, BK Frem's Knud Christophersen have to temporarily leave the football field for three minutes to recover. [30] B.93 gets the upper hand with many and the most dangerous attacks with goals prevented safely by the BK Frem goalkeeper, Niels Hansen, while BK Frem are sentenced to several fouls committed in this period. [30] Unexpected, forward Carl Stoltz increase BK Frem's lead to 2–0 upon a powerful kick with him left foot towards the right goal post, placing a renewed pressure on the B.93 players. [30]
The second half took place mostly on the BK Frem's half of the field, where the B.93 players struggled to void the lead made by BK Frem. [30] After several B.93 attempts at the beginning of the second half, BK Frem gets an opportunity in the 63rd minute. [3] BK Frem's forward Robert Jensen shots the ball over Svend Jensen's head, hitting the right goal post farthest away, and bouncing into the goal net near the left goal post, increasing the lead to 3–0 – almost identical to the first BK Frem goal made in the first half. [30] B.93 decided to regroup, placing three of their players, Fritz Tarp as left innerwing, Børge Mørch as left half and Helge Scharff as right back, in positions, that they are not used to playing. [30] B.93 is awarded a corner on the left side after an error committed by BK Frem's defender, Eiler Holm. [30] The following corner kick ends up at Kaj Plaugmann, who makes one single move, and then shots the ball into the roof of the goal with his left foot, finally giving B.93 a goal in the match 4 minutes after BK Frem's last goal, reducing the overall score to 3–1. [30] [3] For the remaining part of the second half, there are almost continuous attacks by the B.93's players. [30] With two minutes remaining of the match, B.93 gets their second and the last goal of an overall even match, once again made by Kaj Plaugmann. [30]
BK Frem hence won the 1927 edition of the KBUs Pokalturnering, and were crowned Copenhagen Cup Champions (Danish: KBU pokalmestre), by defeating the previous season's cup champions, B.93, 3–2 in the final after 3–0 lead almost two-thirds into the match, which was the BK Frem's second championship in the tournament after seven appearances in the final. [2] [3] [4] B.93's forward Børge Mørch and BK Frem's Pauli Jørgensen were highlighted as the best players on the field — though they did not score, they created the opportunities for their colleagues. [30] The Valby-team players celebrated the win in the evening at the Centralbanehotellet situated on Halmtorvet. [30]

KBUs Pokalturnering was a Danish regional knockout association football competition contested annually from 1910 to 1953 by clubs that were members of the regional football association Copenhagen FA (KBU). Organised by and named after KBU, the competition rules has varied from being open to all Copenhagen clubs and being a closed tournament (1920–1946) reserved only for the highest ranking clubs, and as a consequence the number of participants have varied greatly throughout its history. For the first 10 seasons, between 7 and 13 teams participated until a fixed number of 8 teams was introduced from 1920 until 1946. When both the Sommerpokalturneringen and the KBUs B-Pokalturnering, both featuring the lower ranking KBU teams, were discontinued after their 1946 edition, the Copenhagen FA again allowed lower ranking clubs to participate in the association's primary cup competition, increasing the number of teams to 52. For the most part, the competition took place in the fall season and since the 1913 edition culminating in a final played at Københavns Idrætspark that saw large attendance figures and generated much media coverage.

The 1926–27 Landsfodboldturneringen was the 14th edition of the Danish national football championship play-offs, a Danish FA-organised club football tournament between the championship clubs from each of the six regional football associations. In advance of the tournament, a play-off structure had been agreed, which meant that the winners of KBUs Mesterskabsrække were directly qualified for the national championship final against the winner of the Provincial tournament. The semi-finals consisted of two matches; on one side the champions of JBUs Mesterskabsrække played against the champions of FBUs Mesterskabsrække and in the other match, the champions of the LFBUs Mesterskabsrække tournament played against the winners of a preliminary round between the champions of SBUs Mesterskabsrække and BBUs Mesterskabsrække.
The 1927–28 Danmarksmesterskabsturneringen i Fodbold was the 1st edition of the new year-long league structure for the Danish national football championship play-offs, a Danish FA-organised club football tournament between the highest ranking clubs from each of the six regional football associations. This season's installment was won by B.93 after defeating Kjøbenhavns BK 5–1 in the final played at Københavns Idrætspark on 7 November 1926, which was the club's fifth cup title after having contested in eight finals of the tournament. BK Fremad Amager were the defending league winners, earning promotion to the 1926–27 KBUs Mesterskabsrække and replacing KFUMs BK, who were relegated to this season of the KBUs A-række. The winner of the league would automatically qualify for the inaugural season of the new Danish Championship play-off structure, the 1927–28 Danmarksmesterskabsturneringen i Fodbold and for the promotion/relegation play-off against the lowest placed team of the 1926–27 KBUs Mesterskabsrække for a spot in the 1927–28 KBUs Mesterskabsrække. The winners and runners-up also qualified for the 1927 KBUs Pokalturnering.

The season was launched on 21 August 1927 with a match between BK Fremad Amager and B.93 at Københavns Idrætspark and concluded on 9 May 1928 with the final match of the regular league fixtures, with the play-off promotion/relegation match being held on 4 July 1928. B.93, playing in white shirts, started as the defending league champions from the 1926–27 KBUs season. The Copenhagen FA first-tier league ran simultaneously with the inaugural edition of the 1927–28 Danmarksmesterskabsturneringen i Fodbold, in which all of the league's teams participated. All six teams in the league, including the winners and the runners-up of the 1927–28 KBUs A-række automatically qualified for the 1928 edition of KBUs Pokalturnering, while the same teams and the third placed team of the 1927–28 KBUs A-række qualified for the 1928–29 Danmarksmesterskabsturneringen.

The winner of the league qualified for promotion/relegation play-off matches against the lowest placed team of the 1927–28 KBUs Mesterskabsrække for a spot in the 1928–29 KBUs Mesterskabsrække. The winners and the runners-up would also qualify for the 1928 KBUs Pokalturnering at the end of the season, while the winners, the runners-up and the third placed team qualified for participation in the 1928–29 Danmarksmesterskabsturneringen i Fodbold.

Organised by and named after FBU, it was the third regional cup competition introduced on a national level, and the second in the province, after the KBUs Pokalturnering in 1910 and the LFBUs Pokalturnering in 1915. The 1953 season of the cup tournament became the last edition due to the Danish FA's introduction of a new national-wide cup competition in 1954.

All eligible teams in the FBUs Mesterskabsrække including the top placed teams of the 1927–28 FBUs A-række would also participate in the next season of the Funen regional cup tournament, 1928 FBUs Pokalturnering. Horsens FS secured their second consecutive Jutland league championship and qualified for both the provincial semi-finals of the 1926–27 Landsfodboldturneringen and the group stage of the 1927–28 Danmarksmesterskabsturneringen. Horsens FS' reserve team were relegated and replaced by Kolding BK of the 1926–27 JBUs A-række, who had won the regional second-tier league championship. In the 1926 JBUs Pokalturnering, Aalborg BK obtained their third consecutive cup championship, by winning the final against Esbjerg fB.
The 1964 Copenhagen Series was the 76th edition of the Copenhagen Football Championship since its establishment in 1889, the 62nd under the administration of Københavns Boldspil-Union (KBU) and the 6th season as one of the fifth tiers of the Danish football pyramid system. The season was launched on 4 April 1964 with five simultaneously played group A matches and five group B matches, interrupted by a two and a half month long summer break, and concluded with the last four group A league fixtures on 31 October and six group B fixtures on 8 November 1964. The season featured a Copenhagen football league structure consisting of two individual groups, with group A being composed solely of first senior men's teams, while group B was composed of reserve teams of higher ranking Copenhagen clubs. No reserve teams were eligible for promotion to the fourth tier. The clubs of the group A league entered the 1964–65 Danish Cup tournament in the second qualifying round for the Copenhagen FA's area.
Amager Boldspil-Union, shortened to ABU, was a subregional governing body for men's association football on the island of Amager, Denmark. The Amager Football Association governed the league and cup tournaments for the official championship of Amager, known as ABUs Amager-Turnering and ABUs Pokalturnering since its inception in March 1912. In 1916, the association's clubs formed the regional Københavns Forstadsklubbers Boldspil-Union (KFBU). Representative teams, either composed of individual clubs and a selection of players from several teams, referred to as Amager, competed in KFBU tournaments or in exhibition matches against other representative teams and clubs. The subregional football association published a member's magazine known as Unionsbladet, which evolved into the KFBU magazine known as Fodboldbladet.
