The 1928 Brisbane City Council election was held on 18 February 1928 to elect the Lord Mayor and councillors for each of the 20 wards of the City of Brisbane. [1]

Results

The ruling United Party changed its name to Nationalist Civic Party during the preceding term. [2]

The Civic Reform Association (CRA), also known as the Civic Reform Movement, the Civic Reform Party or simply Reform, was an Australian ratepayers' organisation and local political party which contested elections for the City of Sydney.

The 1931 Brisbane City Council election was held on 2 May 1931 to elect councillors for each of the 20 wards of the City of Brisbane. The election resulted in 8 seats for Labor, 7 seats for Civic Reform, 3 seats for non-party progressives and 2 seats for National Citizens. The new council elected John William Greene as Lord Mayor.

The 1925 Brisbane City Council election was held on 21 February to elect the Lord Mayor and councillors for each of the 20 wards of the City of Brisbane. The election was the first for the City of Brisbane, which had been created from the amalgamation of 20 local governments the previous year.

The National Party, later the United Party was a political party in the Australian state of Queensland from 1917 until 1925. Although allied with the federal Nationalist Party, it had different origins in state politics. It sought to combine the state's Liberal Party with the Country Party but the latter soon withdrew. In 1923 the party sought a further unification with the Country Party but only attracted a few recruits. Then in 1925 it merged with the Country Party, initially as the Country Progressive Party with a few members left out and then they were absorbed into the renamed Country and Progressive National Party.

Brisbane City Council (BCC) is the democratic executive local government authority for the City of Brisbane, the capital city of the state of Queensland, Australia. The largest City Council in Australia by population and area, BCC's jurisdiction includes 26 wards and 27 elected councillors covering 1,338 km2 (517 sq mi). BCC is overseen by the Lord Mayor of Brisbane, Adrian Schrinner, and the Council of Brisbane and the Civic Cabinet. The council's CEO is Colin Jensen, supported by EO Ainsley Gold.
