During the 1938-39 season Bologna Associazione Giuoco del Calcio competed in Serie A, Coppa Italia and Mitropa Cup.
The club won its 5th league championship ever, [1] winning the race against Torino. Weisz was replaced by German manager Felsner on round 6 [2] The squad, after a 4-0 score against Napoli [3] [4] [5] on 21 May 1939, clinched the title. [6] With the trophy of Italian champions, the club reached a decent place in 1939 Mitropa Cup semifinals defeated by Ferencváros. [7]
