Åse Maria Kleveland is a Norwegian singer, guitarist, politician and activist.
The Eurovision Song Contest 1966 was the 11th edition of the annual Eurovision Song Contest. It took place in Luxembourg City, Luxembourg, following France Gall's win at the 1965 contest in Naples, Italy with the song "Poupée de cire, poupée de son". It was the second time Luxembourg hosted the event after the 1961 edition. The contest was held at the Villa Louvigny on Saturday 5 March 1966 and was hosted by Josiane Chen.
"Intet er nytt under solen" was the Norwegian entry in the Eurovision Song Contest 1966, performed in Norwegian by Åse Kleveland. In the Norwegian selections before 1977, all competing songs were performed twice, with big and small orchestra, but this is the only song to have been issued in two versions; Åse Kleveland's record using the big arrangement and Grynet Molvig issuing a version with the small orchestra. This song was Norway's best placing until 1985 when they won the contest with La Det Swinge, also in Norwegian.

Sweden has participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 58 times since making its debut in 1958, missing only three contests since then. Since 1959, the Swedish entry has been chosen through an annual televised competition, known since 1967 as Melodifestivalen. At the 1997 contest, Sweden was one of the first five countries to adopt televoting. Sweden is the only country to have hosted the event in five different decades, three times in Stockholm, twice in Malmö and once in Gothenburg (1985).
Wenche Synnøve Myhre, in some countries known as Wencke Myhre, is a Norwegian singer and actress who has had a great number of hit songs since the 1960s in the Norwegian, Danish, German as well as the Swedish markets and languages.
Norway competed in the Eurovision Song Contest 1999, represented by Stig van Eijk with the song "Living My Life Without You". The song was chosen as the Norwegian entry after winning the Melodi Grand Prix 1999 contest.
Kirsti Sparboe was born on 7 December 1946 in Tromsø, Norway. She is a musical performer and an actress. Most of her musical career has been built on participation in the widely popular Eurovision Song Contest.

The Norwegian entry was selected through Melodi Grand Prix 2012, a national selection consisting of three semi-finals and a final, organised by the Norwegian broadcaster NRK. Tooji represented Norway with the song "Stay", which qualified from the second semi-final and went on to place 26th (last) in the final, scoring 7 points.

The Norwegian entry was selected through the national selection "Melodi Grand Prix 2013", organised by the Norwegian broadcaster Norsk rikskringkasting (NRK). Margaret Berger represented Norway with the song "I Feed You My Love", which qualified from the second semi-final of the competition and placed 4th in the final with 191 points.
Norway participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2014 in Copenhagen, Denmark. The Norwegian entry was selected through the national competition Melodi Grand Prix 2014, organised by the Norwegian broadcaster Norsk rikskringkasting (NRK). Norway was represented by the song "Silent Storm" performed by Carl Espen and written by Josefin Winther. The entry qualified from the second semi-final and placed 8th in the final, scoring 88 points.
Norway participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2016 with the song "Icebreaker" written by Agnete Johnsen, Gabriel Alares and Ian Curnow. The song was performed by Agnete. The Norwegian broadcaster Norsk rikskringkasting (NRK) organised the national final Melodi Grand Prix 2016 in order to select the Norwegian entry for the 2016 contest in Stockholm, Sweden. Ten entries competed in a show that took place on 27 February 2016 and the winner was determined over two rounds of public televoting. The top four entries in the first round of voting advanced to the competition's second round—the Gold Final. In the second round of public televoting, "Icebreaker" performed by Agnete was selected as the winner with 166,728 votes.
