The 2nd European Badminton Championships were held in Port Talbot (Wales), between 17 and 19 April 1970, and hosted by the European Badminton Union and the Welsh Badminton Union.

Joachim Fischer Nielsen is a Danish retired badminton player. At the 2012 Summer Olympics, he won the bronze medal in the mixed doubles with teammate Christinna Pedersen. He retired from the international tournament in the end of 2018.

Sport in Denmark is diverse. The national sport is football with the most notable results being qualifying for the European Championships six times in a row (1984–2004) and winning the Championship in 1992. Other significant achievements include winning the Confederations Cup in 1995 and reaching the quarter final of the 1998 World Cup. Michael Kjeldsen is a retired male badminton player from Denmark. He is now 1st team coach in The elite club Måløv Badminton Club (MBC). MBC has started their season with two well played matches with Mister Kjeldsen as their coach.

John David Eddy is a retired badminton player from England who won national and international titles from the late 1960s to the early 1980s.

Elo Hansen is a retired male badminton player from Denmark who won international titles in all three events from the late 1960s through the mid-1970s.

Per Walsøe is a Danish former Supreme Court judge and a retired male badminton player who won a number of Danish national and international doubles titles from the mid-1960s to the early 1970s.

Viktor Axelsen is a Danish badminton player. He is the reigning World and Olympic Champion in Men's singles, having won the 2022 World Championships and 2020 Olympics.

Kim Astrup Sørensen is a Danish badminton player. As junior player, he won the bronze medal at the 2010 World Junior Championships in the boys' doubles. He later won a gold in the mixed doubles and bronze medals in the boys' doubles and team events at the 2011 European Junior Championships. He joined the Denmark winning team at the 2016 Thomas Cup in Kunshan, China, where he and his teammates beating Indonesia 3–2 in the final. Astrup emerged victorious in the men's doubles at the 2018 European Championships.

Anders Skaarup Rasmussen is a Danish badminton player. He joined the Denmark winning team at the 2016 Thomas Cup in Kunshan, China, where he and his teammates beating Indonesia 3–2 in the final. Rasmussen won the men's doubles title at the 2018 European Championships partnered with Kim Astrup.

Anders Antonsen is a Danish badminton player. He won the gold medal at the 2015 European Junior Championships in the boys singles event, and at the same year was awarded the European Young Player of the Year. Together with the national team, he won the European Men's Team Championships in 2016 and 2018; also European Mixed Team Championships in 2017, 2019, 2021 and 2023. Antonsen was the champion at the 2019 Minsk European Games, 2021 European Championships, the silver medalist at the 2017 European Championships, and the 2019 World Championships, and the bronze medalist at the 2021 World Championships.

The Wales national badminton team represents Wales in international badminton team competitions. It is controlled by Badminton Wales, the national organization for badminton in the country. Wales have never participated in the Thomas Cup and the Uber Cup. The team's last appearance in the international stage was at the 2007 Sudirman Cup.

The 1991 European Junior Badminton Championships was the 12th tournament of the European Junior Badminton Championships. It was held in Budapest, Hungary, from 31 March to 6th of April. Danish players won four titles girls' singles, and all the three doubles disciplines while Austria won Boys' singles and Soviet Union won the mixed team championships.
