Holme Pierrepont Country Park, home of The National Water Sports Centre is located in the hamlet of Holme Pierrepont near Nottingham, England and on the River Trent. It is used for many different types of sports and has recently received significant investment which has enabled a major refurbishment of existing facilities as well as introduction of new facilities.
The British Rowing Championships usually take place every year and are normally held at the National Water Sports Centre, Holme Pierrepont (Nottingham), with occasional championships held at the Strathclyde Country Park. The championships originally incorporated Senior and Junior crews but since 2013 have been held separately. However, since 2018 the senior championships have not been held. It is a major event for club rowers and schools and events are held for open, women, open junior, women's junior, under 23, lightweight, adaptive and coastal boats.
Michael John Hart MBE is a British former rower who competed in the 1972 Summer Olympics and in the 1976 Summer Olympics.
Christopher Latham Baillieu MBE is an English former rower who competed in the 1976 Summer Olympics and in the 1980 Summer Olympics representing Great Britain. He was the first chairman of British Swimming, from 2001 to 2008.
David Lindsay Maxwell was a British rower who competed in the 1972 Summer Olympics and in the 1976 Summer Olympics.
Alan Frederick Inns is a British rowing cox. He competed at the 1972 Summer Olympics, 1980 Summer Olympics and the 1984 Summer Olympics. He won the coxed pairs title with Michael Hart and David Maxwell and the eights title, at the 1972 National Rowing Championships.

The 1984 National Rowing Championships was the 13th edition of the National Championships, held from 14–15 July 1984 at the National Water Sports Centre in Holme Pierrepont, Nottingham. The Championships were seriously affected by the fact that the Great Britain squad was in San Diego training for the 1984 Summer Olympics and the Junior squad was in Sweden for the World Championships.

Barnes Bridge Ladies Rowing Club is a rowing club on the River Thames, based at the Civil Service Sports Club Boathouse, Dukes Meadows, Chiswick, West London.
