Emanuel School Boat Club is a rowing club on the River Thames, based at Dukes Meadows, Chiswick, London. [1]
The club belongs to Emanuel School and has 70 boats and a rowing tank for training at their boathouse. [2] The club was the dominant force in schoolboy rowing during the 1960s, a period in which it won the Schools' Head of the River Race an unprecedented eight times in nine years. In total it has won the Schools' Head 11 times (behind only the 14 of Eton College) and won the prestigious Princess Elizabeth Challenge Cup at the Henley Regatta in 1966, finishing runner-up on three further occasions. [3] It has also produced multiple British champions.

Westminster School Boat Club is a rowing club based on the River Thames at the Embankment, Putney, London.
Staines Boat Club is a rowing club between Penton Hook Lock and Bell Weir Lock on the River Thames in England. The club was founded in 1869 when it was first listed in the Rowing Almanac as racing in that season. Its boathouse formally reopened in May 2022 after renovations. It is located next to the Hythe spur of the Thames Path in Egham Hythe, historically also known as Staines hythe, the last word meaning small harbour or river harbour.

Quintin Boat Club (QBC) is a rowing club based at the University of Westminster Boathouse on the River Thames, close to Chiswick Bridge in Chiswick, West London. Formally constituted in 1907, it evolved out of the Regent Street Polytechnic’s rowing club which was started in 1879. In 1888, the polytechnic's founder, Quintin Hogg, paid to have a boathouse built for it at Chiswick and also paid for a fleet of boats.
The 122nd Boat Race, an annual side-by-side rowing race between crews from the Universities of Oxford and Cambridge along the River Thames, took place on 20 March 1976 and was won by Oxford by 6+1⁄2 lengths in 16 minutes 58 seconds, the fastest time in the history of the race. The race was umpired by former Cambridge rower Farn Carpmael. It was the first race in the event for which an official weigh-in was held, and featured the heaviest rower ever in Steve Plunkett.
