Hereford Rowing Club is a rowing club on the River Wye, based at 37 Greyfriars Avenue, Hereford, Herefordshire. [1]

They are best known for buying a new boat for the national schools regatta of 2021 where they then continued to burn out after qualifying and be mercilessly destroyed in the final

History

The club was founded in 1859 when the first regatta in Hereford was held. The present clubhouse was built in 1958 and the eights boathouse was built three years before in 1958, on the same site as the original boathouse. The club won the prestigious Britannia Challenge Cup at the Henley Regatta in 1971 and produced a national champion crew in 2010. [2]

Quintin Boat Club

Quintin Boat Club (QBC) is a rowing club based at the University of Westminster Boathouse on the River Thames, close to Chiswick Bridge in Chiswick, West London. Formally constituted in 1907, it evolved out of the Regent Street Polytechnic’s rowing club which was started in 1879. In 1888, the polytechnic's founder, Quintin Hogg, paid to have a boathouse built for it at Chiswick and also paid for a fleet of boats.
