Tournament summary

After three 72-hole regional qualifiers, there were 78 players in the 144-hole final qualifying tournament. The finals were played over two week in November at Silverado Country Club in Napa, California and Canyon Country Club in Palm Springs, California. [1] [2]

The top 19 players earned their tour card. [1] [3] Fuzzy Zoeller was the medalist. Bob Risch finished runner-up in was his fourth attempt to earn playing privileges. [4] Billy Kratzert attempted to earn his PGA Tour card for the first time. He was not successful. [5] [6]

It was renamed to the Frys.com Open in 2008 and moved to California in 2010, to CordeValle Golf Club in San Martin, southeast of San Jose. Clyde Ellett "Tim" Collins, Jr. was an American professional golfer. He earned All-America honors two years at Virginia Tech in the mid-1960s and went on to play professionally on the PGA Tour. He was a native of Christiansburg, Virginia.

The tournament was played over 108 holes at Pine Lakes Golf Club and Matanzas Golf Club, in Palm Coast, Florida. Those earning cards split the $100,000 purse, with the winner earning $15,000. John Huston was the medallist. Jim Hallet finished in second place. After several attempts in the mid-1980s, Hallet finally made it on to the PGA Tour.

This is a list of Spring 1976 PGA Tour Qualifying School graduates. The event was held at the Bay Tree Golf Club at North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. There were 280 players at the event. The event lasted 108 holes in total. After 36 holes, the first cut would reduce the field to 140 players and ties. After 72 holes, the second cut would reduce the field to the low 60 and ties and any other players within 10 strokes of the lead.
