The Netherlands has participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 62 times since making its debut as one of the seven countries at the first contest in 1956. The country has missed only four contests, twice because the dates coincided with Remembrance of the Dead and twice because of being relegated due to poor results the previous year. The Netherlands hosted the contest in Hilversum (1958), Amsterdam (1970), twice in The Hague and Rotterdam.
Eurosong is the current name for the show in search for Belgium's song and artist for the Eurovision Song Contest. Belgium has two national broadcasters of the contest, Flemish broadcaster Vlaamse Radio- en Televisieomroep (VRT) and Walloon broadcaster Radio Télévision Belge Francophone (RTBF). The two broadcasters rotate selection for the Eurovision Song Contest each year.
Belgium made its 50th appearance at the Eurovision Song Contest 2008. This year Flemish broadcaster VRT was in charge of selecting the Belgian entry and chose it through the programme Eurosong. The winning song was selected on Sunday, 9 March 2008.
Belgium was represented in the Eurovision Song Contest 1957, on 3 March 1957, by Bobbejaan Schoepen with the song "Straatdeuntje", written by Harry Frekin and Eric Franssen and performed in Dutch. The song was chosen during a national final with Schoepen performing all entries.
Belgium was one of seven countries to enter the Eurovision Song Contest 1956, inaugural Eurovision Song Contest, in Lugano, Switzerland. RTBF, the Belgian broadcaster, held a national final to select the two entrants that would send to the contest.
Belgium was represented at the Eurovision Song Contest 1958, which took place on 12 March in Hilversum, by Fud Leclerc, with the song "Ma petite chatte". The song was chosen at the Belgian preselection entitled Concours Eurovision de la Chanson - Demi-Finale, held on 19 February.
Belgium was represented by Tonia, with the song "Un peu de poivre, un peu de sel", at the 1966 Eurovision Song Contest, which took place on 5 March in Luxembourg City. Tonia was chosen internally to be the Belgian representative, and the song was chosen in the national final on 25 January.
Belgium was represented by Serge & Christine Ghisoland, with the song "À la folie ou pas du tout", at the 1972 Eurovision Song Contest, which took place in Edinburgh on 25 March. "À la folie ou pas du tout" was the winner of the Belgian national final for the contest, held at the RTB studios in Brussels on 15 February. The Ghisolands had previously participated in the Belgian final in 1970.
Belgium was represented by Lize Marke, with the song "Als het weer lente is", at the 1965 Eurovision Song Contest, which took place on 20 March in Naples. Marke was chosen internally to be the Belgian representative, and the song was chosen in the national final on 13 February. Marke had previously finished second in the Belgian preselection in 1963.
Belgium was represented by Fud Leclerc, with the song '"Ton nom", at the 1962 Eurovision Song Contest, which took place on 18 March in Luxembourg City. The song was chosen in the Belgian national final on 19 February. This was Leclerc's fourth time at Eurovision, and he still shares the record for the most Eurovision appearances as a main performer. "Ton nom" has also gone down in history as the first Eurovision performance ever to score the infamous nul-points.
Belgium participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2012 in Baku, Azerbaijan. The Belgian entry was selected through a combination of an internal selection, to select the artist, and a national final, to select the song, both organised by the Belgian broadcaster VRT. Iris represented Belgium with the song "Would You?", which failed to qualify from the first semi-final, achieving 17th place with 16 points.
Belgium participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2013 in Malmö, Sweden. The Belgian entry was selected through a combination of an internal selection to select the artist and a national final to select the song, organised by the Belgian broadcaster Radio Télévision Belge Francophone (RTBF). Roberto Bellarosa represented Belgium with the song "Love Kills", which qualified from the first semi-final of the competition and finished in 12th place in the final, scoring 71 points. This was Belgiums's second best placing since the introduction of the semi-finals in 2004, and the first Walloon entry to qualify from a semi-final.
Belgium participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2016 with the song "What's the Pressure" written by Sanne Putseys, Louis Favre, Birsen Uçar and Yannick Werther. The song was performed by Laura Tesoro. The Belgian entry for the 2016 contest in Stockholm, Sweden was selected through the national final Eurosong 2016, organised by the Flemish broadcaster Vlaamse Radio- en Televisieomroeporganisatie (VRT). The competition featured five competing acts and consisted of two presentation shows and a final. In the final on 17 January 2016, the winner was selected over two rounds of voting: the first selected the top two via the votes of ten international jury groups and a public televote, while the second selected the winner solely by public televoting. "What's the Pressure" performed by Laura Tesoro was the winner after placing first during both rounds of voting.
Belgium participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2017 with the song "City Lights", written by Pierre Dumoulin, Emmanuel Delcourt and Ellie Delvaux. The song was performed by Blanche, who was selected by the Belgian broadcaster Radio Télévision Belge de la Communauté Française (RTBF) on 22 November 2016 to represent the nation at the 2017 contest in Kyiv, Ukraine. "City Lights" was internally selected as the song Blanche would perform at Eurovision and later premiered on 8 March 2017.
Belgium participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2018. Sennek was internally selected by the Belgian broadcaster Vlaamse Radio- en Televisieomroeporganisatie (VRT) on 28 September 2017 to represent the nation at the 2018 contest in Lisbon.
Belgium participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2019. Eliot was selected internally by the Belgian broadcaster Radio Télévision Belge de la Communauté Française (RTBF) to represent Belgium in Tel Aviv with the song "Wake Up". The song is written by Pierre Dumoulin and was released on 28 February 2019.

Belgium originally planned to participate in the Eurovision Song Contest 2020 with the song "Release Me", performed by Hooverphonic. The entry, written by Alex Callier and Luca Chiaravalli, was selected internally by the Flemish broadcaster VRT. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Europe, the contest was cancelled.
Belgium participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 in Turin, Italy, having internally selected Jérémie Makiese to represent the country with the song "Miss You".
