The 1980 Castrol International Rally was the seventh running of the Castrol International Rally. The rally took place between the 22nd and the 23rd of March 1980. The event was based in Canberra and covered 600 kilometres in 43 Special Stages. It was won by Greg Carr and Fred Gocentas, driving a Ford Escort RS 1800 Mark II.

The founders of Wakefield Park, John Carter and amateur racer and former motor dealer, Paul Samuels felt that Castrol had been so influential in helping amateurs go motor racing that CC Wakefield should be honoured, especially as Samuels' and Carter's’ circuit was intended for amateur racers in the likelihood in the 1990s of both Amaroo and Oran Park Raceways closing and amateur racers being unable to afford the daily hire rate at Eastern Creek Raceway.

It was the twelfth event of fourteen in the 2016 International V8 Supercars Championship and hosted Races 22 and 23 of the season. It was also the third and final event of the 2016 Enduro Cup. It was the seventh running of the Gold Coast 600.
