The 1988–89 Cypriot Third Division was the 18th season of the Cypriot third-level football league. Digenis Akritas Ipsona won their 2nd title.

Association football team field sport

Association football, more commonly known as football or soccer, is a team sport played with a spherical ball between two teams of eleven players. It is played by 250 million players in over 200 countries and dependencies, making it the world's most popular sport. The game is played on a rectangular field called a pitch with a goal at each end. The object of the game is to score by moving the ball beyond the goal line into the opposing goal.

Digenis Akritas Ipsona was a Cypriot football club based in Ipsonas, Limassol. Founded in 1956, was playing sometimes in Second, in Third and in Fourth Division. In 2014 merged with Enosi Neon Ypsona to form Enosi Neon Ypsona-Digenis Ipsona.

Format

Fourteen teams participated in the 1988–89 Cypriot Third Division. All teams played against each other twice, once at their home and once away. The team with the most points at the end of the season crowned champions. The first two teams were promoted to 1989–90 Cypriot Second Division. The last three teams were relegated to the 1989–90 Cypriot Fourth Division.

The 1989–90 Cypriot Second Division was the 35th season of the Cypriot second-level football league. EPA Larnaca won their 1st title.

The 1989–90 Cypriot Fourth Division was the 5th season of the Cypriot fourth-level football league. The championship was split into three geographical groups, representing the Districts of Cyprus. The winners were:

Teams received two points for a win, one point for a draw and zero points for a loss.
