The 1977–78 Cypriot Third Division was the seventh season of the Cypriot third-level football league. Adonis Idaliou won their 1st title.
Eleven teams participated in the 1977–78 Cypriot Third Division. All teams played against each other twice, once at their home and once away. The team with the most points at the end of the season crowned champions. The first team was promoted to 1978–79 Cypriot Second Division. The last team was relegated to regional leagues.
Teams received two points for a win, one point for a draw and zero points for a loss.

(help)ASIL Lysi is a Cypriot football club which was established in the town of Lysi, Famagusta. After the Turkish invasion of Cyprus in 1974, ASIL became a refugee team and is temporarily based in Larnaca. The club plays in the Cypriot Third Division.
The Cypriot Second Division is the second highest football division of the Cypriot football league system. Administrated by the Cyprus Football Association, it is contested by 16 teams, with the top two teams being promoted to the Cypriot First Division and the last four teams being relegated to the Cypriot Third Division.
APK Karmiotissa Pano Polemidion is a Cypriot football club based in Pano Polemidia, Limassol. As of 2016 the team competed in the First Division for one season, where it played for the first time in its history, but was relegated. The club colors are red and white. The home ground of the football team is the Community Stadium of Pano Polemidia.
Alki Oroklini is a Cypriot football club based in Oroklini. The team was founded as Omonia Oroklinis in 1979. Omonia had one participation in the Fourth Division. In 2014 the team changed their name to Alki Oroklini, when business man Andy Loppas, who became the president of the team, renamed it to Alki as his favorite team was Alki Larnaca FC which was dissolved that year, due to financial problems. Alki managed the outstanding 3 promotions in 3 years from the fourth division to cypriot first division, the highest tier in Cyprus.
