The 1990–91 Cypriot Third Division was the 20th season of the Cypriot third-level football league. Othellos Athienou FC won their 1st title.

Othellos Athienou is a football club based in Athienou, Larnaca, Cyprus and competes in the Cypriot Second Division. The football department is the only activity of the club at the moment, which participated for the first time in the Cypriot First Division, the top football level division in Cyprus. The club colours are green and white.
Fourteen teams participated in the 1990–91 Cypriot Third Division. All teams played against each other twice, once at their home and once away. The team with the most points at the end of the season crowned champions. The first two teams were promoted to 1991–92 Cypriot Second Division. The last three teams were relegated to the 1991–92 Cypriot Fourth Division.

The 3rd-placed team faced the 12th-placed team of the 1991–92 Cypriot Second Division, in a two-legged relegation play-off for one spot in the 1991–92 Cypriot Second Division.
Teams received two points for a win, one point for a draw and zero points for a loss.

Ermis Aradippou is a Cypriot professional football club based in Aradippou, a settlement on the outskirts of the city of Larnaca. The club is currently playing in the Cypriot First Division, the top league of Cypriot football. Since its formation in 1958, the club has won the Cypriot Super Cup in 2014. Ermis have a long-standing rivalry with their neighbouring club Omonia.
The Apollon Lympion is Athletic Club and Cultural Association based in Lympia village of Nicosia district. The official color of the Apollon Lympion is blue, symbolizing the desire of the Greek Cypriots for union of Cyprus with mainland Greece.
Phileleftheros is the largest newspaper in Cyprus, with about 26,000 copies daily (2002). Established in 1955, it is also the oldest Greek-language daily newspaper in circulation on the island. Other daily newspapers published in Cyprus include Politis,Simerini, Haravgi, and Alithia.
The Cypriot Third Division is the third tier football league competition in Cyprus, run by the Cyprus Football Association. Each year, the top finishing teams of the league are promoted to the Cypriot Second Division, and the lowest finishing teams are relegated to the STOK Elite Division.

The 1990–91 Cypriot Cup was the 49th edition of the Cypriot Cup. A total of 72 clubs entered the competition. It began on 27 October 1990 with the first preliminary round and concluded on 9 June 1991 with the final which was held at Makario Stadium. Omonia won their 9th Cypriot Cup trophy after beating Olympiakos Nicosia 1–0 in the final.
