It was the 20th edition of the event known that year as the ABN AMRO World Tennis Tournament, and was part of the ATP World Series of the 1992 ATP Tour. It took place at the Rotterdam Ahoy indoor sporting arena in Rotterdam, Netherlands, from 24 February through 1 March 1992. Boris Becker won the singles title.

Stefan Edberg defeated Michael Stich in the final, 5–7, 6–4, 6–1 to win the singles tennis title at the 1992 ATP German Open.

Boris Becker defeated the defending champion Guy Forget in the final, 7–6(7–3), 6–3, 3–6, 6–3 to win the singles tennis title at the 1992 Paris Open.
