The World Judo Championships are the highest level of international judo competition, along with the Olympic judo competition. The championships are held once every year by the International Judo Federation, and qualified judoka compete in their respective categories as representatives of their home countries. Soumiya Iraoui is a Moroccan judoka. She is a silver medalist at the African Games and a five-time medalist, including two gold medals, at the African Judo Championships. She also represented Morocco at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Japan.

Lamiaa Alzenan is an Egyptian judoka. She is a bronze medalist at the African Games and a two-time medalist at the African Judo Championships.

The World Junior Championships are the only junior event awarding ranking points for the seniors world ranking list. The last edition of the championships took place in Guayaquil, Ecuador in 2022.
