The 1997 African Judo Championships is the 19th edition of the African Judo Championships, organised by the African Judo Union. It took place in Casablanca, Morocco from 17 to 19 July 1997. [1]

World Judo Championships Judo competition

The World Judo Championships are the highest level of international judo competition, along with the Olympic judo competition. The championships are held once every year by the International Judo Federation, and qualified judoka compete in their respective categories as representatives of their home countries. Team competitions have also been held since 1994. The men's championships began in 1956, though the format and periodicity of the championships have changed over time. The last edition of the championships took place in Budapest, Hungary in 2021.

2018 African Nations Championship International football competition

The 2018 African Nations Championship, known as the Total African Nations Championship was the 5th edition of the African Nations Championship, a biennial football tournament organized by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) exclusively featuring players from the respective national championships. It took place between 12 January and 4 February 2018. In February 2016, Kenya was announced as the host nation but in September 2017, CAF decided to change the host nation due to a lack of progress with preparations. Morocco was announced as the host nation in October 2017.

Ushangi Kokauri is an Azerbaijani judoka of Georgian origin, acting in the weight category over 100 kg, member of the national team of Azerbaijan in judo. Ushangi representing Azerbaijan at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. He competed at the 2016 Summer Olympics in the men's +100 kg event, in which he was eliminated in the second round by Hisayoshi Harasawa.
