The Dagenham by-election , in Dagenham, on 9 June 1994 was held after Labour Member of Parliament (MP) Bryan Gould resigned the seat. A safe Labour seat, it was won by Judith Church, who retained the seat in 1997. [1]

The Barking by-election was held on 9 June 1994, following the death of Labour Party Member of Parliament for Barking Jo Richardson. Richardson had represented the seat since the February 1974 general election, following Tom Driberg.

The Leicester South by-election was held to elect a Member of Parliament (MP) of the United Kingdom for the Leicester South constituency on 5 May 2011. The 2018 Barking and Dagenham Council election took place on 3 May 2018 to elect members of Barking and Dagenham Council in London. This was on the same day as other local elections. The Labour Party won every available council seat for the third election in a row, winning 74% of the popular vote. The Conservatives saw their vote share rise by 13 percentage points, but failed to win any seats.

Brian Parker is an English politician who served as councillor on Pendle Borough Council for the Marsden ward of Nelson, Lancashire, between 2006 and his retirement in 2018. He is a member of the far-right British National Party (BNP) and was their last office holder at district level or higher. Parker has publicly stated: "I am opposed to all black and brown immigration".
