The 1995 Big West Conference baseball tournament determined the conference champion for the Big West Conference at the end of the 1995 season. The four teams met in the double-elimination tournament from May 12 through 14 at Long Beach State's on campus facility, Blair Field. Cal State Fullerton won the tournament, earning the league's automatic bid to the 1995 NCAA Division I baseball tournament, en route to winning the College World Series for the third time. [2]

Contents

This would be the second postseason conference championship event sponsored by the league, and the first with greater than two teams. The event would be held for the next four years before being discontinued.

Seeding and format

The top four teams at the end of the conference's round robin regular season were seeded one through four based on conference winning percentage only.

They were led by 17th-year head coach Jerry Tarkanian. The team played its home games in the Thomas & Mack Center as a member of the Big West Conference. They finished the season 35–5, 16–2 in Big West play to win the regular season championship. They defeated Cal State Fullerton, Pacific, and Long Beach State to win the Big West tournament championship. As a result, the received the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA tournament as the No. 1 seed in the West region. They defeated Arkansas–Little Rock, Ohio State, Ball State, and Loyola Marymount to advance to the school's second Final Four in 4 years. In the Final Four, they defeated Georgia Tech to advance to the championship game where they defeated Duke for the school's only national championship.

The 1996 Big West Conference baseball tournament determined the conference champion for the Big West Conference at the end of the 1996 season. The teams met from May 10 through 12 at Cal State Fullerton's on campus stadium, Titan Field.

The 1998 Big West Conference baseball tournament determined the conference champion for the Big West Conference at the end of the 1998 season. The six teams met at Cal State Fullerton's on campus venue, Titan Field from May 14 through 17. This would be the last Big West Conference postseason championship event, as the tournament was discontinued after the 1998 season. It has not been revived, as of the 2023 season.

The 2013–14 Cal State Fullerton Titans men's basketball team represented California State University, Fullerton during the 2013–14 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Titans, led by first year head coach Dedrique Taylor, played their home games at Titan Gym as members of the Big West Conference. The Titans brought in a whole new coaching staff this season with Josh Smith, Robert Spence, and Danny Sprinkle joining Taylor as first-year assistant coaches. They finished the season 11–20, 6–10 in Big West play to finish in a tie for sixth place. They lost in the quarterfinals of the Big West Conference tournament to Long Beach State.
