The 1997 Big West Conference baseball tournament determined the conference champion for the Big West Conference at the end of the 1997 season. The teams met at Long Beach State's on campus venue, Blair Field from May 15 through 18. [2]

Seeding and format

The top team from each of the conference's two divisions after the regular season received the top two seeds, while the four teams with the highest conference winning percentage regardless of division were seeded three through six in the double-elimination tournament. Matchups were set to avoid inter-divisional games in the early rounds as much as possible.

The 1985 Pacific Coast Athletic Association Baseball Championship Series, pitted the regular season division champions to determine the Pacific Coast Athletic Association baseball champion for the 1985 season. Fresno State and Cal State Fullerton met in a best of three series at Fresno State's Pete Beiden Field on May 17–18, 1985.

The 1995 Big West Conference baseball tournament determined the conference champion for the Big West Conference at the end of the 1995 season. The four teams met in the double-elimination tournament from May 12 through 14 at Long Beach State's on campus facility, Blair Field. Cal State Fullerton won the tournament, earning the league's automatic bid to the 1995 NCAA Division I baseball tournament, en route to winning the College World Series for the third time.

The 1996 Big West Conference baseball tournament determined the conference champion for the Big West Conference at the end of the 1996 season. The teams met from May 10 through 12 at Cal State Fullerton's on campus stadium, Titan Field.

The 1998 Big West Conference baseball tournament determined the conference champion for the Big West Conference at the end of the 1998 season. The six teams met at Cal State Fullerton's on campus venue, Titan Field from May 14 through 17. This would be the last Big West Conference postseason championship event, as the tournament was discontinued after the 1998 season. It has not been revived, as of the 2023 season.

The 1969 Cal Poly Mustangs football team represented California Polytechnic State College—now known as California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo—as a member of the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) during the 1969 NCAA College Division football season. Led by first-year head coach Joe Harper, Cal Poly compiled an overall record of 6–4 with a mark of 2–0 in conference play, winning the CCAA title and beginning a streak of five consecutive CCAA championships. The Mustangs played home games at Mustang Stadium in San Luis Obispo, California.

The 1996 Big West Conference men's basketball tournament was held March 8–March 10 at Lawlor Events Center in Reno, Nevada.

The 2018 Big West Conference men's soccer season is the 36th consecutive season of men's college soccer in the Big West Conference under the 2018 NCAA Division I men's soccer season. The season will feature eight teams, where one is an affiliate member of the conference. Sacramento State will compete from the Big Sky Conference. Colleges in the Big West will begin competition on August 24, 2018, and conclude on November 9, 2018 after the 2018 NCAA Division I Men's Soccer Championship. Prior to the NCAA Division I Tournament Championship, there will be a postseason conference tournament held at the university with the highest seed in the postseason conference tournament, where the winner is guaranteed to represent the Big West in the NCAA Division I Tournament. Hawaii and Long Beach State have defunct programs in this season.

The 2000 Big West Conference men's basketball tournament was held March 9–11 at Lawlor Events Center in Reno, Nevada.

The 2021 Big West Conference women's soccer tournament was the postseason women's soccer tournament for the Big West Conference held on November 4 and 7, 2021. The three-match tournament took place at Anteater Stadium in Irvine, California. The four-team single-elimination tournament consisted of two rounds based on seeding from regular season conference play. The defending champions were the Cal State Fullerton Titans. The Titans won the tournament in 2019 and are classified as the defending champions because there was no tournament held in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Cal State Fullerton was unable to defend its crown, falling to Cal Poly in the Semifinals. The UC Irvine Anteaters won the title by defeating Cal Poly 1–0 in the final. This was the second Big West tournament title for the UC Irvine program and the first for head coach Scott Juniper. As tournament champions, UC Irvine earned the Big West's automatic berth into the 2021 NCAA Division I Women's Soccer Tournament.
