Kristine Lora Quance, also known by her married name Kristine Julian, is an American former competition swimmer who specialized in breaststroke and medley events. Quance competed at the international level in the 1990s, and swam at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta, Georgia, winning a gold medal in the 4×100-meter medley relay. She is a 10-time United States national champion; and twice won the Kiphuth Award for highest individual point scorer at an individual national championship.
The 1997 LEN European Aquatics Championships were held in Seville, Spain from Tuesday 19 August to Sunday 24 August, in the 50 m pool of the Centro Deportivo San Pablo. Yuliya Andreyevna Yefimova is a Russian competitive swimmer. She is the Russian national record holder in the 200 metre individual medley, 50 metre breaststroke, 100 metre breaststroke, and 200 metre breaststroke. After making her Olympic debut in 2008, she went on to win the bronze medal in the 200 metre breaststroke in 2012, and silver medals in the 100 metre and 200 metre breaststroke in 2016. She is a six-time World Champion, winning the 50 metre breaststroke in 2009 and 2013, the 100 metre breaststroke in 2015, and the 200 metre breaststroke in 2013, 2017, and 2019. She is also a former world record holder in the 50 metre breaststroke.
Rebecca Soni is an American former competition swimmer and breaststroke specialist who is a six-time Olympic medalist. She is a former world record-holder in the 100-meter breaststroke and the 200-meter breaststroke, and is the first woman to swim the 200-meter breaststroke in under 2 minutes 20 seconds. As a member of the U.S. national team, she held the world record in the 4×100-meter medley relay from 2012 to 2017.

Elvira Fischer is an Austrian former swimmer, who specialized in breaststroke events. She represented Austria in two editions of the Olympic Games, and also held numerous Austrian records in a similar disciplinary double until they were all broken by Mirna Jukić in the early 2000s. While studying in the United States, she received three All-American honors for the Nebraska Cornhuskers and later earned a 200-yard breaststroke title at the Pacific-10 Conference Championships, following her sudden transfer to the UCLA Bruins.
Ina Hüging is a German former swimmer, who specialized in breaststroke events. She became a top 16 finalist in the 200 m breaststroke at the World and European Championships, and later represented Germany, as a 20-year-old, at the 2000 Summer Olympics. During her sporting career, Hüging trained for Münster Swim Sport Club, under longtime coach and mentor Henning Lambertz.

Lillia Camille King is an American swimmer who specializes in breaststroke. She currently represents the Cali Condors, a team that is part of the International Swimming League. At the 2016 Summer Olympics she won the gold medal in the 100 meter breaststroke competition and also won a gold medal in the 4x100 meter medley relay, in which she swam the breaststroke leg. At the 2020 Summer Olympics, King won a silver medal in the 4x100 meter medley relay for her efforts in the prelims, the silver medal in the 200 meter breaststroke, and the bronze medal in the 100 meter breaststroke. She is the current world record holder in the long course 100 meter breaststroke.

She competes in the 100 m backstroke, 100 m breaststroke, 100 m freestyle, 200 m backstroke, 200 m breaststroke, 200 m medley, 50 m backstroke, 4x100 m freestyle, 4x100 m medley, 4x100m freestyle mixed, and 4x200m freestyle. Having won 4 World and European championships gold medals, competing at 2 Olympic finals, breaking most of the Israeli national records for women and mixed relays – Gorbenko is considered to be Israel's greatest swimmer of all time.
