Terrie Norlene Miller (born 10 March 1978) is an American-born Norwegian swimmer. [1] [2] [3] [4]

She competed at the European Short Course Swimming Championships 1996, where she won a gold medal in 100 m breaststroke and a silver medal in 50 m breaststroke. She also won a bronze medal in 50 m breaststroke at the 1994 European Sprint Swimming Championships in Stavanger. [5] She was coached by Sondre Solberg since 1992.

She participated in the 1996 Summer Olympics, where she finished 20th in 100 m breaststroke. [6]

In 1997, she accepted an athletic scholarship to attend the University of Nebraska in Lincoln, Nebraska, where she competed for the Nebraska Cornhuskers swimming and diving team under head coach Cal Bentz and coaches Jan Bidrman and Paul Nelsen. There she lived and trained with other renowned swimmers: Penny Heyns, Therese Alshammar, Helene Muller, Destiny Laurén, Emma Johnson, Anna Windsor, Lenka Manhalova, Melanie Dodd, Valērijs Kalmikovs and Adam Pine. While swimming for the Cornhuskers, Miller received three All-American honors (1997, 1998 and 1999), [7] and captured two Big 12 Conference titles (1997 and 1998). [8] [9]

Also in 1997, Miller participated in the Norwegian gameshow Mestermøtet [10] [ circular reference ] broadcast on TV2 presented by Hallvard Flatland.

Miller has 54 senior National Championship medals: 52 in swimming (26 gold, 22 silver and 4 bronze) 1993–2002 [11] and two in ice hockey [12] (gold in 1990 for Vålerenga Hockey and bronze in 2008 for Jordal Ishockeyklubb).

Valērijs "Val" Kalmikovs is a Latvian former swimmer, who specialized in breaststroke and individual medley events. He is a two-time Olympian and a top 16 finalist in the 200 m breaststroke on his Olympic debut in Atlanta (1996). He still holds a Latvian record in the 200 m breaststroke (2:16.21) that stood for more than a decade. While studying in the United States, Kalmikovs achieved a sixth-fastest of all time in the 200-yard breaststroke at the 2000 NCAA Men's Swimming and Diving Championships. He has also been named a three-time Big-12 Conference Champion and a nine-time All-American, as a member of the University of Nebraska swimming and diving team. Since his sporting career ended in 2004, Kalmikovs has extensively traveled across the United States and Europe, working as a swimming coach. On September 9. 2019 Val became the first Latvian to swim across The English Channel. It took him 11 hours and 13 minutes (6pm-5am) to successfully finish the challenge.

Elvira Fischer is an Austrian former swimmer, who specialized in breaststroke events. She represented Austria in two editions of the Olympic Games, and also held numerous Austrian records in a similar disciplinary double until they were all broken by Mirna Jukić in the early 2000s. While studying in the United States, she received three All-American honors for the Nebraska Cornhuskers and later earned a 200-yard breaststroke title at the Pacific-10 Conference Championships, following her sudden transfer to the UCLA Bruins.

Inger Nordbø was a Danish/Norwegian sports swimmer and diver. She won two bronze medals at the European championships, in diving and breaststroke swimming, respectively. She competed in two Olympic games, in 1936 and 1948.

Melanie Margalis is an American competitive swimmer who specializes in the freestyle, breaststroke and individual medley events. Margalis represented the Cali Condors which was part of the International Swimming League. She won a gold medal at the 2016 Summer Olympics.

Sydney Pickrem is a Canadian competitive swimmer who competed for Texas A&M University in College Station. A three-time Olympian, she placed sixth in the 200m individual medley at the 2016 Summer Olympics and won a bronze medal at the 2020 Summer Olympics as part of the Canadian 4×100 metre medley relay team. At the 2024 Paris Olympics, she participated in the women’s 200-meter individual medley and the 200-meter breaststroke, but finished out of medal contention. Cody William Miller is an American competitive swimmer. He is a former world record holder in both the men's 4×50 meter freestyle relay and the mixed 4×50 meter freestyle relay as well as a former American record holder in the long course 100 meter breaststroke and short course 50 meter, 100 meter, and 200 meter breaststroke events. At the 2016 Summer Olympics, he won a bronze medal in the 100 meter breaststroke and a gold medal in the 4×100 meter medley relay, swimming the breaststroke leg of the relay in the final to help achieve a new Olympic record. In 2019, he won the silver medal in the 100 meter breaststroke at the year's Pan American Games. He competes representing DC Trident in the International Swimming League.

Lillia Camille King is an American swimmer who specializes in breaststroke. At the 2016 Summer Olympics, she won the gold medal in the 100-meter breaststroke competition and also won a gold medal in the 4x100 meter medley relay, in which she swam the breaststroke leg. At the 2020 Summer Olympics, King won a silver medal in the 4x100 meter medley relay for her efforts in the prelims, the silver medal in the 200-meter breaststroke, and the bronze medal in the 100-meter breaststroke. At the 2024 Summer Olympics, she won a gold medal in the 4x100 meter medley relay, where she swam the breaststroke leg. She is the current world record holder in the long course 100-meter breaststroke.

Kelsey Lauren Wog is a Canadian breaststroke swimmer. She won a silver medal in the 200 m breaststroke at the 2016 FINA World Swimming Championships. At the 2016 Junior Pan Pacific Swimming Championships in Maui, Wog captured two individual medals. She earned silver in the 200-m breaststroke and bronze in the 100 m breaststroke. She also contributed to a silver medal in the 4×100-m medley relay with teammates Danielle Hanus, Rebecca Smith and Sarah Darcel. She is a resident of Winnipeg, Manitoba, and is currently a member of the Toronto Titans for the International Swimming League.

Anna Charlott Darcel Elendt is a German swimmer. She competed in the women's 50 metre breaststroke and women's 100 metre breaststroke at the 2019 World Aquatics Championships. She holds the National Record in the 100m breaststroke, with a time of 1:06.50, which she achieved at the German Swimming Championships on 4 June 2021 in Berlin.

Annie Lazor is a retired American competitive swimmer. She competed at the 2020 Summer Olympics, where she won the bronze medal in the 200 m breaststroke.

Alexandra Walsh is an American competitive swimmer. She is known for her versatility in all four strokes that has allowed her to have success in medley events. Growing up, Walsh was a phenom who started setting national age group records at 12 in 2014. She led her high school team to multiple state and national championships. At the 2019 Pan American Games, she won three gold medals.

Katherine Cadwallader Douglass is an American competitive swimmer. A versatile swimmer who competes in many events, Douglass won her first major international medal at the 2020 Olympic Games and won three medals at the 2022 World Championships. Douglass then won six medals, including two golds, at the 2023 World Championships. At the 2024 World Championships, she won five medals, including two golds. Douglass won four medals, including two golds, at the 2024 Olympic Games; she became the Olympic champion in the 200 m breaststroke.
