Martina Carraro (born 21 June 1993) is an Italian swimmer. She competed at the 2020 Summer Olympics, in 100 m breaststroke and 200 m breaststroke. [3] She was European champion in short course in the 100 m breaststroke at the 2019 European Short Course Swimming Championships in Glasgow, Scotland. [4]
In 2012, Carraro moved to Bologna, joining the Swimming Club Azzurra 1991 led by the coach Fabrizio Bastelli. [5] On 9 July 2015, at the 2015 Gwangju Universiade, he sets the Italian record in the long course on 50 meters breaststroke, with a time of 30.89 in the semifinal, improving his previous record of 31.00 set in Rome during the Seven Trophy Colli 2015. [4] Subsequently, she still improves this record during the 2015 Kazan World Championships in heats with a time of 30.83, a record that will be later broken by Arianna Castiglioni. [4]
In 2016 she enlisted in the Fiamme Azzurre Sports Group, [4] than competed in the women's 100 metre breaststroke event at the 2016 Summer Olympics. [4]
On 23 July 2019, at the Gwangju World Championships, she won the bronze in the 100 meters, with a time of 1:06.36, behind the American Lilly King and the Russian Julija Efimova. [4] In 2020 she qualified to represent Italy at the 2020 Summer Olympics. [6] In 2021, she won two bronze medals with the relay team at the Swimming European Championships Hungary 2020. [7]
At the 2022 European Aquatics Championships, held in Rome, she won the silver medal in the 200 metre breaststroke with a time of 2:23.64, finishing 0.37 seconds behind gold medalist Lisa Mamié of Switzerland. [8] [9]
Yuliya Andreyevna Yefimova is a Russian competitive swimmer. She is the Russian record holder in the 200 metre individual medley, 50 metre breaststroke, 100 metre breaststroke, and 200 metre breaststroke. After making her Olympic debut in 2008, she went on to win the bronze medal in the 200 metre breaststroke in 2012, and silver medals in the 100 metre and 200 metre breaststroke in 2016. She is a six-time World Champion, winning the 50 metre breaststroke in 2009 and 2013, the 100 metre breaststroke in 2015, and the 200 metre breaststroke in 2013, 2017, and 2019. In 2019, she became the first woman to win the 200 metre breaststroke at a FINA World Aquatics Championships three times. She is a former world record holder in the long course 50 metre breaststroke. Gregorio Paltrinieri is an Italian competitive swimmer. He is a former world record holder in the short course 1500 metre freestyle. He holds the European record in the long course 800 metre and 1500 metre freestyle events with times of 7:39.27 and 14:32.80, respectively. In the 1500 metre freestyle, he is a 2016 Olympic, three-time world long course, two-time world short course, three-time European long course, and three-time European short course champion. In the 800 metre freestyle, he is a 2019 world long course, 2022 world short course, three-time European long course, and 2021 European short course champion. In the 10 kilometre open water swim, he is a 2022 world and 2020 European champion. In the 5 kilometre open water swim, he is a two-time European champion.
Linda Cerruti is an Italian competitor in synchronised swimming who competed at the 2011 World Aquatics Championships, 2013 World Aquatics Championships, 2010 European Aquatics Championships, 2012 European Aquatics Championships. and in Duet at the 2020 Summer Olympics. She also competed at the 2022 World Aquatics Championships in Budapest, Hungary and at the 2022 European Aquatics Championships in Rome, Italy.
Adam George Peaty is an English competitive swimmer who specialises in the breaststroke. He won the gold medal in the 100 metre breaststroke at the 2016 Summer Olympics, the first by a male British swimmer in 24 years, and retained the title at the 2020 Summer Olympics in 2021, the first British swimmer ever to retain an Olympic title. He is also an eight-time World Champion, a sixteen-time European Champion and a four-time Commonwealth Champion. According to FINA itself, Peaty is widely regarded as the dominant breaststroke swimmer of his era, and the most dominant sprint breaststroke swimmer of all time.

Anton Mikhailovich Chupkov is a Russian competitive swimmer. He is the European record holder in the long course 200 metre breaststroke and the Russian record holder in the long course 100 metre breaststroke. He formerly held the world record in the long course 200 metre breaststroke. At the 2015 European Games he won four gold medals in individual and relay events. He won the bronze medal in the 200 metre breaststroke at the 2016 Summer Olympics. He won the gold medal in the 200 metre breaststroke at the 2017 and 2019 World Aquatics Championships.
Sara Franceschi is an Italian swimmer. She competed in the women's 400 metre individual medley event at the 2016 Summer Olympics. She competed at the 2020 Summer Olympics in 200 m individual medley and 400 m individual medley.
Luca Pizzini is an Italian swimmer specialized in breaststroke. A junior medallist at both European and World Championships, he earned bronze medals in the 2013 Summer Universiade and the 2016 European Aquatics Championships. He also competed in the men's 200 metre breaststroke event at the 2016 Summer Olympics.

Alessandro Miressi is an Italian swimmer. He is a world record holder in the short course 4×100 metre freestyle relay and an Italian record holder in the long course and short course 100 metre freestyle. In the long course 100 metre freestyle, he was 2018 European champion, 2020 European Championships silver medalist, and 2022 European Championships bronze medalist. In the short course 100 metre freestyle, he was 2021 World champion, 2019 and 2021 European Championships silver medalist, and 2022 World Championships bronze medalist.

Benedetta Pilato is an Italian swimmer. She is the world record holder in the long course 50 metre breaststroke. She is the European champion in the 50 metre breaststroke in 2021 and the 100 metre breaststroke in 2022 as well as the silver medalist in the 50 metre breaststroke in 2022. In 2021, she won a silver medal in the 50 metre breaststroke at the 2021 World Short Course Championships. She is the world champion in the 100 metre breaststroke and the silver medal in the 50 metre breaststroke at the 2022 World Aquatics Championships.
Thomas Ceccon is an Italian swimmer. He is a world record holder in the long course 100 metre backstroke and the short course 4×100 metre freestyle relay. He is also the Italian record holder in the long course 50 metre backstroke and 50 metre butterfly. He is the 2022 World champion in the 100 metre backstroke and 2022 European champion in the 100 metre backstroke and 50 metre butterfly. In the 100 metre individual medley, he won the gold medal at the 2022 World Short Course Championships and the bronze medal at the 2021 World Short Course Championships. Ilaria Scarcella is an Italian swimmer who competed at the 2009 World Aquatics Championships and won a silver medal at senior level with the national team at the 2015 Summer Universiade.
Michele Lamberti is a competitive Italian swimmer. He is a former world record holder in the short course 4×50-metre medley relay. He currently holds the Italian record in the short course 50-metre backstroke. At the 2021 European Short Course Championships he won a gold medal and set a world record in the 4×50-metre medley relay, won three silver medals, one in the 50-metre backstroke, one in the 100-metre butterfly, and one in the 4×50-metre mixed medley relay, and won a bronze medal in the 200-metre backstroke. At the 2021 World Short Course Championships he won two bronze medals in relay events, swimming in the preliminaries for each relay.
Simone Cerasuolo is an Italian competitive swimmer. He is the world junior record holder in the short course 50 metre and 100 metre breaststroke events. In the 50 metre breaststroke, he won a gold medal at the 2021 European Junior Championships, the silver medal at the 2022 European Aquatics Championships, the bronze medal at the 2022 World Short Course Championships, and placed fifth at the 2022 World Aquatics Championships. In the 100 metre breaststroke, he won the bronze medal at the 2021 European Junior Championships and placed sixth in the final at the 2022 World Short Course Championships.
