The Alaska Milkmen won the All-Filipino Cup title with a 4-1 series win over the Purefoods Tender Juicy Hotdogs. This was the third All-Filipino crown for Alaska in the last five seasons and winning every two years, first in 1996 and then in 1998.

Kenneth Celera Duremdes is a Filipino retired professional basketball player in the Philippine Basketball Association and the current commissioner of the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL). Nicknamed as "Captain Marbel", Duremdes is also a former PBA Most Valuable Player in 1998, and a former member of the Philippine national basketball team.
Vincent "Chot" P. Reyes is a Filipino basketball head coach for the TNT Tropang Giga for the Philippine Basketball Association. He famously known as head coach of the Philippine national basketball team and led to a historic silver medal finish at the 2013 FIBA Asia Championship and the subsequent appearance at the 2014 FIBA World Cup, the country's first in 36 years. Chot Reyes is a five-time PBA Coach of the Year. He is the President of TV5 Network, Inc. and president of Media5, which served as the sales and marketing arm of TV5. Formerly, he was the head of Sports5, TV5's Sports division until 2015 and Digital5.
