Motorcycle speedway Motorcycle sport

Motorcycle speedway, usually referred to simply as speedway, is a motorcycle sport involving four and sometimes up to six riders competing over four anti-clockwise laps of an oval circuit. The motorcycles are specialist machines which use only one gear and have no brakes; racing takes place on a flat oval track usually consisting of dirt, loosely packed shale, or crushed rock. Competitors use this surface to slide their machines sideways, powersliding or broadsiding into the bends. On the straight sections of the track the motorcycles reach speeds of up to 70 miles per hour (110 km/h).

Stadion Miejski im. Józefa Piłsudskiego, also known as Polonia Bydgoszcz Stadium, is a multi-purpose stadium in Bydgoszcz, Poland. It is currently used mostly for speedway matches but also for association football and is the home stadium of Polonia Bydgoszcz. The stadium has a capacity of 20,000 people and was opened in 1924 by president Stanisław Wojciechowski.

Speedway Grand Prix are a series of stand-alone motorcycle speedway events over the course of a season used to determine the Speedway World Champion. The series started in 1995 replacing the previous format of a single event final. The first winner was Hans Nielsen of Denmark.

Nicki Pedersen Danish motorcycle speedway rider

Nicki Pedersen is a Danish motorcycle speedway rider. He has won the World Championship in 2003, 2007 and 2008 and was a World Cup winner with Denmark in 2006, 2008, 2012 and 2014. His brother, Ronni Pedersen, has also ridden in the Speedway Grand Prix and World Cup.

The Super Prix was an event introduced by the Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM), and Speedway Grand Prix organisers, Benfield Sports International, to the 2008 Speedway Grand Prix series offering an additional prize fund of US$200,000 to the Grand Prix riders. Four Super Prix events were held at four rounds of the Grand Prix season, with the winner of each of the four events qualifying for the Super Prix Final. Brian Andersen is a Danish international motorcycle speedway rider who rode in the Speedway Grand Prix between 1997 and 2001, and in the 2001 Speedway World Cup. He won the Individual Speedway Danish Championship in 1995 and 1999, and the 1991 Individual Speedway Junior World Championship.

Bartosz Zmarzlik Polish speedway rider

Bartosz Zmarzlik is a Polish motorcycle speedway rider, two times World Champion and the current Vice World Champion. He is decorated with the Order of Polonia Restituta, V class.

The Vojens Speedway Center is a Motorcycle speedway track located in Vojens, Denmark. The track has been part-owned since its opening by Denmark's first three time Speedway World Champion Ole Olsen.
