The 2001 Khaleej Times Trophy was a One Day International (ODI) cricket tournament held in the United Arab Emirates in late October 2001. [1] It was a tri-nation series between the national representative cricket teams of the Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe. The Pakistanis won the tournament by defeating the Sri Lanka by 5 wickets in the final. [2] All matches were held in Sharjah Cricket Stadium, Sharjah.

Saeed Anwar is a Pakistani former cricketer and a former captain for Tests and ODIs. An opening batsman and occasional slow left arm orthodox bowler, Anwar played international cricket between 1989 and 2003. Considered as one of greatest opening batsmen Pakistan has ever produced, Anwar has scored twenty centuries in ODIs, more than any other Pakistani batsmen in this format. He played 55 Test matches, scoring 4052 runs with eleven centuries, average 45.52. In 247 One Day Internationals (ODIs) he made 8824 runs at an average of 39.21.

The Cherry Blossom Sharjah Cup was a One Day International cricket tournament held in Sharjah during April 2003. The games took place at Sharjah Cricket Association Stadium. Seven matches were played during the tournament, including the final. Final of the tournament was played between Pakistan and Zimbabwe which Pakistan won by eight wickets. After scoring two centuries, Kumar Sangakkara was named the man of the series. It was Sanath Jayasuriya's last tournament as Sri Lankan captain.

The 2006 Women's Asia Cup was the third Asian Cricket Council Women's Asia Cup. The three teams which took part in the women's One Day International tournament were India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. It was held between 13 and 21 December 2006 in India. All the matches of the tournament were played at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. The tournament was won by India, defeating Sri Lanka by eight wickets in the final.
