2001 V8Star Series

The 2001 V8Star Series season was the inaugural V8Star Series season. It featured nine races at five European racing circuits, in Germany and Austria. Venezuelan ex-Formula One and Grand Prix motorcycle racing driver Johnny Cecotto was crowned champion of the series, taking four wins, and beating Germans Marcel Tiemann and Roland Asch to the title.

Michael Bartels is a German professional racing driver. He is a multiple FIA GT champion and former Grand Prix driver who attempted to qualify for four races in 1991 with Lotus.

Marcel Tiemann is a retired racing driver from Germany. He is best known for being a five-time winner of the 24 Hours Nürburgring race with Opel and Porsche.

ASCAR (Anglo-American Stock Car Racing), was a stock car racing series that raced at circuits around the United Kingdom and Europe from 2001 until 2008. The series went through many guises during its seven year period and was known as the ASCAR Mintex Cup from 2001 to 2003, later known as the Days of Thunder Racing Series (2004) and the SCSA (Stock Car Speed Association) (2005 to 2007) before its final season as the SCSA MAC Tools VSR V8 Trophy. Prema Racing is a motorsport team from Italy. It operates in the FIA Formula 2 Championship and FIA Formula 3 Championship as well as various junior championships. In 2022 the team made its FIA World Endurance Championship and European Le Mans Series entries, beginning the efforts in the endurance racing. The 2002 V8Star Series season was the second V8Star Series season. It featured ten races at six European racing circuits, in Germany, Belgium and Austria. Venezuelan ex-Formula One and Grand Prix motorcycle racing driver Johnny Cecotto was crowned champion of the series for a second time, taking three wins in all and beating Austrian Robert Lechner to the title.
