Steffi Graf defeated defending champion Arantxa Sánchez Vicario in the final 7–5, 4–6, 6–0 to win the women's singles tennis title at the 1995 French Open. Sánchez Vicario lost the world No. 1 ranking to Graf following this tournament, and would never recapture it.
