Bill Lester American racing driver

William Alexander Lester III is an American semi-retired professional racing driver. He last competed part-time in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, driving the No. 17 Ford F-150 for David Gilliland Racing. Lester previously competed full-time in the Truck Series from 2002 to midway through 2007. Lester was the NASCAR's only full-time African-American driver during that time. After that, he moved to sports car racing, competing in the Rolex Sports Car Series from 2007 to 2012. Lester had also competed part-time in the same series from 1998 to 2001.

The 2002 NASCAR Winston Cup Series was the 54th season of professional stock car racing in the United States and the 31st modern-era Cup Series season. It began on February 10, 2002, at Daytona International Speedway, and ended on November 17, 2002, at Homestead-Miami Speedway. Tony Stewart, driving for Joe Gibbs Racing, was declared as the Winston Cup champion. Bill Elliott won the 2002 NASCAR's Most Popular Driver Award. He would win it for the 16th and final time in his career. He withdrew from the ballot after receiving the award. The NASCAR Manufacturers' Championship was captured by Ford after winning 14 events and gaining 245 points over second-place finisher Chevrolet, who had 10 wins and 211 points.

2005 G.I. Joes Champ Car Grand Prix of Portland Motor car race

The 2005 G.I. Joe's Presents the Champ Car Grand Prix of Portland was the fourth round of the 2005 Bridgestone Presents the Champ Car World Series Powered by Ford season, held on June 19, 2005 at the Portland International Raceway in Portland, Oregon. The pole sitter was Justin Wilson and the race was won by Cristiano da Matta. It marked the 12th and final Champ Car victory for the 2002 CART champion. It was also the first career Champ Car pole for Wilson, the first of eight in his American open wheel career.

The 107% rule is a sporting regulation affecting Formula One racing qualifying sessions. During the first phase of qualifying, if the circuit is dry, any driver who is eliminated in the first qualifying session and fails to set a lap within 107 percent of the fastest time in that session will not be allowed to start the race without permission from the race stewards. For example, if the fastest Q1 lap time was 100 seconds, each driver who is eliminated in the session must complete at least one lap within 107 seconds to guarantee a race start. The 107% rule was introduced for the 1996 season and remained in force until 2002. It was reintroduced for the 2011 season with minor modifications due to the knock-out qualifying format.

Cristiano da Matta of Newman/Haas Racing, the championship leader going into the event, won the race from the third position. Chip Ganassi Racing's Bruno Junqueira finished in second and Team Green driver Dario Franchitti came in third after winning the eleventh pole position of his career in qualifying.

It was the 8th round of the 2001 CART season. The race was won from the pole in severe wet conditions by Max Papis for Team Rahal. Roberto Moreno finished second, and Christian Fittipaldi clinched third.

March 86G

The March 86G was a Group C and IMSA GTP sports racing car built by March Engineering. Built as simply a chassis with no engine, it was branded as one of three cars, the BMW GTP, the Buick Hawk or the Nissan R86V depending on which engine was placed in the chassis and which team was running it. There were a number of subtle bodywork changes to reflect the manufacturer which ran the car.

The 2022 Pacific Office Automation 147 was the fourteenth stock car race of the 2022 NASCAR Xfinity Series and the first iteration of the event. The race was held on Saturday, June 4, 2022, in Portland, Oregon, at Portland International Raceway, a 1.967 miles (3.166 km) permanent road course. The race was contested over 75 laps. In a caution filled race, A. J. Allmendinger, driving for Kaulig Racing, took the lead on the final restart, and would earn his 12th career Xfinity Series win, and his second of the season. To fill out the podium, Myatt Snider of Jordan Anderson Racing and Austin Hill of Richard Childress Racing would finish 2nd and 3rd, respectively.

The 2022 Portland 112 was an ARCA Menards Series West race that was held on June 4, 2022, at the Portland International Raceway in Portland, Oregon. It was contested over 57 laps on the 1.97-mile (3.17 km) road course. It was the fourth race of the 2022 ARCA Menards Series West season. Sunrise Ford Racing driver Jake Drew collected his first career West Series victory.
