The Fédération Internationale d'Escrime, commonly known by the acronym FIE, is the international governing body of Olympic fencing. Today, its head office is at the Maison du Sport International in Lausanne, Switzerland. The FIE is composed of 155 national federations, each of which is recognized by its country's Olympic Committee as the sole representative of Olympic-style fencing in that country.
Danuta Małgorzata Dmowska-Andrzejuk is a Polish politician, former fencer and World Épée Champion 2005. In the years 2019-2020, she served as the Minister of Sport in the Second Cabinet of Mateusz Morawiecki.
The 2006 European Seniors Fencing Championship was held in İzmir, Turkey, between 4 July and 9 July 2006. The event, sanctioned by the European Fencing Confederation (EFC), was organized by the Turkish Fencing Federation (TEF). 382 senior fencers from 37 European countries competed in the championship's foil, épée, and sabre events. Russia was the most successful nation, followed by Hungary and Romania. This was the first time that the championship was hosted by Turkey.
Andrea Baldini is an Italian foil fencer, several time European and World champion and team Olympic champion in 2012. He is the only foil fencer in history to have obtained four golds and the final victory in the World Cup in the same season.
Aida Mohamed is a Hungarian foil fencer, silver medallist at the 1993 World Championships and team gold medallist at the 2007 European Championships. She is the only Hungarian athlete in history to have competed at seven different Olympic Games.

Nikolay Anatolyevich Kovalev is a Russian former sabre fencer. He won a bronze medal in the 2012 Summer Olympics in London and a gold medal in the 2014 World Championships in Kazan. He is three-times World team champion and twice European team champion. He is now a coach in California in the United States.
Julien Pillet is a French sabre fencer. He is a three-time Olympic medalist: he won gold medals in the sabre team events at the 2004 Summer Olympics and 2008 Summer Olympics, and a silver medal in the sabre team event at the 2000 Summer Olympics. He finished 4th in the individual sabre event at the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
Soren Hunter Miles S Thompson is an American épée fencer, team world champion, and two-time Olympian. He represented the United States in the 2004 Olympics in Athens, Greece, where he reached the quarterfinals and came in 7th, the best US result in the event since 1956 and at the time the second-best US result of all time. He also represented the US in the 2012 Olympics in London. Thompson won a gold medal and world championship in the team épée event at the 2012 World Fencing Championships. He was inducted into the USA Fencing Hall of Fame in 2018, and the Southern California Jewish Sports Hall of Fame in 2020.
The World Fencing Championships is an annual competition in fencing organized by the Fédération Internationale d'Escrime. Contestants may participate in foil, épée, and sabre events.

Olha Hennadiivna Kharlan, also known as Olga Kharlan, is a Ukrainian sabre fencer. She is a five-time individual women’s world sabre champion, and a six-time Olympic medalist. She has been ranked #1 in the world in women's sabre for 5 seasons: 2012-2013, 2013-2014, 2017-2018, 2019-2020 and 2020-2021.
The European Fencing Confederation is an international body created in 1991, charged with the promotion and development of fencing in Europe. It organises the European Fencing Championships annually at several levels: cadets (U17), junior (U20), under 23, seniors and veterans.

Artur Kamilevich Akhmatkhuzin is a Russian foil fencer, silver medallist at the 2013 World Fencing Championships.
Noam Mills is an Israeli fencer, who competed in the individual women's épée event for Israel at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing. She is a three-time junior Israeli champion in épée, and a four-time senior Israeli champion.
