At the 2000 Summer Olympics, ten fencing events were contested. Men competed in both individual and team events for each of the three weapon types. Women competed in the foil and the épée events. The events took place at the Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre.
At the 1980 Summer Olympics in Moscow, eight events in fencing were contested. Men competed in both individual and team events for each of the three weapon types, but women competed only in foil events. They were held between July 22 and July 31 at the fencing hall of the Sports Complex of the Central Sports Club of the Army.
Cuba competed at the 1968 Summer Olympics in Mexico City, Mexico. 115 competitors, 101 men and 14 women, took part in 78 events in 13 sports.
The Commonwealth Junior and Cadet Fencing Championships, for fencers under 20 years of age (Junior) or under 17 years of age (cadet), are held every three years. are managed by the Commonwealth Fencing Federation
Italy competed at the 1952 Summer Olympics in Helsinki, Finland. 231 competitors, 208 men and 23 women, took part in 114 events in 19 sports.
Hungary competed at the 1968 Summer Olympics in Mexico City, Mexico. 167 competitors, 135 men and 32 women, took part in 116 events in 15 sports.
At the 1960 Summer Olympics in Rome, eight events in fencing were contested. Men competed in both individual and team events for each of the three weapon types, but women competed only in foil events.
Fencing at the 2010 Asian Games was held in Guangda Gymnasium, Guangzhou, China from November 18 to 23, 2010.
The 2012 European Fencing Championships was the 25th edition and held in Legnano, Italy. The event took place from June 15–20, 2012.
The 2013 European Fencing Championships was held in Zagreb, Croatia from 16–21 June 2013. Venue for the competition was Arena Zagreb.
The 2014 World Fencing Championships were held in Kazan, Russia, from 15–23 July.
Italy competed at the 2015 European Games, in Baku, Azerbaijan from 12 to 28 June 2015. 295 athletes competed in 23 sports.
The 2014 European Fencing Championships were held in Strasbourg, France from 7–14 June 2014 at the Rhénus Sport.
The fencing competition at the 2014 Central American and Caribbean Games was held in Veracruz, Mexico.
The 2014 Pan American Fencing Championships were held in San José, Costa Rica from 1 June to 6 June 2014.
The 2018 European Fencing Championships was held in Novi Sad, Serbia from 16 to 21 June 2018 at the SPC Vojvodina.
The 2019 European Fencing Championships was held in Düsseldorf, Germany from 17 to 22 June 2019 at the Messe Düsseldorf hall 8b.
