The Masaryk circuit or Masarykring, now referred to as the Brno Circuit, refers to two motorsport race tracks located close to the city of Brno, Czech Republic. The original street circuit was made up of public roads, and at its longest measured 18 miles (29 km). In the 1930s, events such as the Masaryk Grand Prix attracted top teams and drivers. The track is named after the first president of Czechoslovakia, Tomáš Masaryk. Racing on the old roads ended after 1986, when the new (current) circuit was opened.
Massimiliano "Max" Biaggi is an Italian former Grand Prix motorcycle road racing World Champion and winner of the 2010 and 2012 World Superbike Championship. Throughout his racing career, he has won the 250cc World Championship four consecutive times, and finished as runner-up in both the 500cc and MotoGP championships. In 2007 he switched to the World Superbike Championship, finishing third overall as a rookie and earned his first Superbike World Championship in 2010 becoming only the 2nd European from outside the United Kingdom after Raymond Roche to do so. Biaggi announced his retirement from racing on 7 November 2012.
John "Hopper" Hopkins is a motorcycle road racer based in United States. During 2017 he raced in the British Superbike Championship aboard a Ducati 1199 Panigale for Moto Rapido Racing, but suffered injuries from a crash at the season-finale race meeting in October, meaning he could not participate during 2018.

Haga was a top contender in the Superbike World Championship, finishing as runner-up three times, and has finished third in the championship series four times. He currently competes in the CIV Supersport 600 Championship, aboard a Yamaha YZF-R6.
Yukio Kagayama is a professional motorcycle road racer. He began motorcycle racing in 1990, spending many years in the All Japan Road Race Championship, finishing fourth in 2001. He contested four 250 cc World Championship races in 1997 and 1998, finishing top-8 in all four. In 2003 he raced in the British Superbike Championship for Rizla Suzuki, alongside double British champion John Reynolds, and had won three races when he crashed heavily at Cadwell Park.
Troy Bayliss is an Australian motorcycle racer. During his career Bayliss won the Superbike World Championship three times and a MotoGP race, all with Ducati. He finished his career after winning the 2008 World Superbike title. His 52 World Superbike victories are only behind Carl Fogarty and Jonathan Rea.
Jonathan Rea, MBE is a Northern Irish professional motorcycle racer, currently competing in the Superbike World Championship where he was crowned champion in 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018. He also holds the highest number of race wins in the Superbike World Championship.

Karl Muggeridge born 20 April 1974 in Tweed Heads, New South Wales, Australia is a former professional motorcycle racer. He is married to Isobel, and has one son, Ryan Luca. He won the Supersport World Championship in 2004, and then raced in Superbike World Championship, primarily on Hondas.
Superbike World Championship is a motorsport road racing series for modified production motorcycles also known as superbike racing. The championship was founded in 1988. The Superbike World Championship consists of a series of rounds held on permanent racing facilities. Each round has two races and the results of each race are combined to determine two annual World Championships, one for riders and one for manufacturers.

Ben Spies, Michel Fabrizio and Max Biaggi were the three dominant riders on pace all weekend - Fabrizio took Spies out in a collision in race one, before all three were on the race two podium. Checa and Rea gave Ten Kate their first ever double WSBK podium finish in race one. Championship leader Noriyuki Haga was still not 100% fit following his huge crash at Mugello in the previous round, but Spies' non-finish in race one reduced the damage to his championship. Troy Corser made flying starts to lead both races on the BMW, while his teammate Rubén Xaus suffered a broken leg in a big crash on lap one of race one.
