The Professional Indoor Football League (PIFL) was the second league to successfully play indoor football as a paid pro-league sport, after the Arena Football League (AFL). Since the AFL had a patent given in 1990 on the gameplay of "Arena Football", the PIFL played with mostly the same rules, but without the endzone nets. The PIFL only lasted one season (1998) under that name.
William D. Snyder is a retired college football coach and former player. He served as the head football coach at Kansas State University from 1989 to 2005 and again from 2009 to 2018. Snyder initially retired from the position from 2006 to 2008 before being rehired. Snyder retired for the second time on December 2, 2018, and is serving as a special ambassador for the athletics department.

He most recently served as an offensive advisor for the Dallas Renegades of the XFL. Previously, Mumme served as the head football coach at Iowa Wesleyan College, Valdosta State University, the University of Kentucky, Southeastern Louisiana University, New Mexico State University, McMurry University, and Belhaven University. Mumme is known for being one of the founders of the air raid offense.

The Mount Union Purple Raiders football program represents the University of Mount Union in college football at the NCAA Division III level as members of the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC). Mount Union have played their home games at Mount Union Stadium in Alliance, Ohio since 1913, which makes it the oldest college football stadium in Ohio. The Purple Raiders have claimed 13 NCAA Division III Football Championship and 35 OAC titles and have 12 undefeated seasons.
The 1951 Kentucky Wildcats football team represented the University of Kentucky during the 1951 college football season. The Wildcats scored 314 points while allowing 121 points. Ranked #6 in the AP Poll at the beginning of the season, the team finished the season with a victory in the 1952 Cotton Bowl Classic and a #15 AP ranking.
The Governor's Cup is a trophy awarded to the victor of the annual college football game between the University of Kentucky and the University of Louisville in the commonwealth of Kentucky; it is also used as a reference to the rivalry itself.

The team plays its home games at the 11,000 seat Wildcat Stadium in Durham, New Hampshire, and are led by head coach Ricky Santos.
Garry Williams is a former American football offensive tackle who played for the Carolina Panthers of the National Football League (NFL). He attended the University of Kentucky, where he played college football for the Wildcats while studying community communications and leadership development.
The 2010 East Carolina Pirates football team represented East Carolina University in the 2010 NCAA Division I FBS football season. The Pirates played their home games in Dowdy–Ficklen Stadium and were led by head coach Ruffin McNeill, a former Pirate football player and former Texas Tech defensive coordinator. He was in his first year as head coach. They were members of Conference USA. After winning consecutive C-USA championships, the Pirates finished the season 6–7, 5–3 in C-USA and were invited to the Military Bowl where they were defeated by Maryland 20–51.
The 2011 Valparaiso Crusaders football team represented Valparaiso University as a member of the Pioneer Football League (PFL) during the 2011 NCAA Division I FCS football season. Led by second-year head coach Dale Carlson, the Crusaders compiled an overall record of 1–10 with a mark of 1–7 in conference play, placing last out of ten teams in the PFL. Valparaiso played home games at Brown Field in Valparaiso, Indiana.

Lynn Bowden Jr. is an American professional football wide receiver. He played college football for the Kentucky Wildcats where he was the team's starting quarterback for seven games as a junior and was selected by the Las Vegas Raiders in the third round of the 2020 NFL draft. He has played in the NFL for the Miami Dolphins, New England Patriots, and New Orleans Saints.
The 2022 North Carolina Tar Heels football team represented the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill as a member of the Coastal Division of the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) for the 2022 NCAA Division I FBS football season. The Tar Heels were led by head coach Mack Brown, who was in the fourth season of his second stint at North Carolina and 14th overall season at the university. Bryant Nathaniel Koback is a former American football running back. He played college football at Toledo and also was enrolled at Kentucky but he never played for the Wildcats. He spent two years in the National Football League (NFL) with the Minnesota Vikings, Seattle Seahawks, and Philadelphia Eagles, but never appeared in a game.
