The Third Division Football Tournament for the 2007 season in the Maldives started on November 12, 2011. [1] Maabaidhoo Sports Club went on to win the tournament without losing a single game. [2]

Stadiums

The Football Association of Maldives decides to play the matches of this year's tournament in two different stadiums; FAM No: 1 Turf ground and Henveiru Stadium. [3]

Tournament format

The 26 teams are divided into 6 groups in the first round. The team which tops the each group will be qualified to the second round. The 6 teams qualified to the second round again will be divided into 2 groups of 3 teams in each group. The winner of each group will play in the final of the tournament. [4]

The 2008 Third Division tournament was scheduled to start in November 2008 with 26 clubs, excluding the Male' Football Club; the Football Association of Maldives decided to exclude them from the 2008 Third Division after a complaint was lodged to the Subordinate Court stating that the Football Association of Maldives election, held in July 2008, was unethical. Despite the complaint, the election was confirmed by the court.

The 2015 Second Division Football Tournament was the first season under its current league division format. The season began on 24 July and ended on 14 September.

The 2015 President's Cup is the 65th season of the President's Cup. New Radiant Sports Club are the defending champions, having beaten Eagles in last season's final in extra time.
