The 2008 Cork Junior A Hurling Championship was the 111th staging of the Cork Junior A Hurling Championship since its establishment by the Cork County Board in 1895. The championship began on 20 September 2008 and ended on 19 October 2008.

Contents

On 19 October 2008, Dripsey won the championship following a 0-13 to 1-07 defeat of Diarmuid Ó Mathúna's in the final at Páirc Uí Chaoimh. [1] This was their first championship title in the grade.

Dripsey's Diarmuid O'Riordan was the championship's top scorer with 1-26.

Dripsey is a village in County Cork on the R618 regional road around 20 km west of Cork City. It is situated on a tributary of the River Lee, the Dripsey River. It is in the Catholic parish of Inniscarra. The Dripsey area hosts a Cork County Council water treatment plant, the Cork offices of the Environmental Protection Agency, and an award-winning garden center. Meelin GAA

Meelin GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based in Meelin, Cork, Ireland which forms part of the parish of Rockchapel and Meelin. The club is affiliated to the Duhallow division of Cork GAA. The club has both a hurling and a Gaelic football teams. Up to recently the club did not have any Gaelic football team with the area represented in football by Knockscovane GAA Club which took part in Duhallow division football competitions until its amalgamation with Meelin GAA club. Meelin juvenile footballers play with St. Peter's which is an amalgamation of Meelin, Freemount and Rockchapel clubs at juvenile level. Meelin won the 2009 Duhallow Junior A Hurling Championship after a barren spell of 13 years, they followed this up with back-to-back titles in 2010, defeating Kilbrin. This was the start of the club's incredible journey that took them to the All-Ireland Junior Final in Croke Park. Meelin won the final on a score line of 0–12 to 1–5 over John Locke's of Kilkenny.

Diarmuid O'Mahuna is a Gaelic Athletic Association based in Castletown-Kinneigh, in Cork, Republic of Ireland. The club has both hurling and Gaelic football teams. The club is part of Cork GAA and also part of the Carbery GAA division. In 2008, the club reached its first ever county final, when it lost to Dripsey in the Cork Junior Hurling Championship final.

Tullylease GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based in the village of Tullylease in the North West of County Cork, Ireland which forms part of the parish of Milford, Freemount and Tullylease. The club plays in the Duhallow division and competes in both Hurling and Gaelic Football competitions.
