The 2008 Dublin Senior Football Championship is the inter club Gaelic football competition between the top teams in Dublin GAA. The 2008 competition opened with group stages. [1] The first round of the group stages began on May 8, 2008. [2] Kilmacud Crokes finished as the 2008 champions and went on to qualify for the Leinster Senior Club Football Championship first round against Celbridge. Tomas Quinn finished the season as highest scorer with 5-34 (0-24f, 0-1 sline 0-1 pen). [3] Dublin Champions Kilmacud Crokes progressed from the Dublin championship to win both the Leinster Senior Club Football Championship and the All-Ireland Senior Club Football Championship.

The winning team in each group qualify for a place in the quarter-finals of the competition. The team that finish in second and third position go on to the Dublin Senior B Football Championship. The teams that finish on the bottom contend the relegation championship.

Kilmacud Crokes is a large Gaelic Athletic Association club located in Stillorgan, Dublin, Republic of Ireland.

Mark Vaughan is an Irish Gaelic footballer who plays for the Kilmacud Crokes club and, formerly, for the Dublin county team. He made his break into the senior Dublin squad in 2005 making his first senior championship start on 19 June against Wexford. He scored two late frees in the Leinster Quarter-Final against Meath to ensure Dublin's win. Mark attended Griffith College Dublin and the Dublin Institute of Technology.

The Dublin Senior Hurling League is a league competition for the top hurling clubs in Dublin. The 2010 champions were Craobh Chiaráin who defeated rivals Crumlin to claim the title. The 2011 winners were Kilmacud Crokes who beat 2010 finalists Crumlin in the 2011 final at Parnell Park. Ballyboden defeated Craobh Chiaráin in the 2012 final by 3 points despite shooting 14 wides in the second half.

Barry O'Rorke or baz is an inter-county Gaelic footballer and hurler for Dublin. He plays his club hurling and football with Kilmacud Crokes and has been a member of the senior panel in both codes. He received his secondary education at the Irish medium school Coláiste Eoin in County Dublin. In 2007, O'Rorke received a sports scholarship to University College Dublin (UCD) for his contributions in both Gaelic football and hurling. O'Rorke is a speaker of the Irish language and is noted for saying his Leinster championship speech in the language in June 2007. He is the brother of former Under-21 Dublin hurling player Shane O'Rorke "shaz" and Dublin minor hurling player Oisin O'Rorke "Oiaz".

He is the brother of inter-county footballer and hurler Ross O'Carroll, inter-county hurler Bill O’Carroll and Oisin O'Carroll. Rory O'Carroll made his debut for Dublin against Kerry in March 2009.

The Dublin Ladies' Senior Football Championship is the senior Ladies' Gaelic football competition featuring clubs affiliated to the Dublin GAA. Ballyboden St. Enda's are the competitions most successful club, having won 10 titles. Between 2000 and 2008 they completed a nine-in-a-row. They won their tenth title in 2010. In more recent seasons, the most successful club has been Foxrock–Cabinteely. Between 2015 and 2021 they completed a seven-in-a-row. The winners of the Dublin Senior Ladies' Football Championship are awarded the Michael Murphy Perpetual Cup. They also qualify to play in the Leinster Ladies' Senior Club Football Championship and if they win that, they qualify for the All-Ireland Ladies' Club Football Championship.

The 2012 Dublin Senior Football Championship was the inter club Gaelic football competition between the top teams in Dublin GAA. St Brigid's were the defending champions and Skerries Harps were the latest addition to the senior championship having won the Intermediate championship in 2011.

Shane Walsh is a Gaelic footballer who plays for the Kilmacud Crokes club and at senior level for the Galway county team. He previously played for the Kilkerrin-Clonberne club from 2010 to 2022.
