St. Vincent's won the Championship for the second year in a row beating St. Oliver Plunkett's Eoghan Ruadh in the final on 27 October 2014 at a packed Parnell Park. [2] The 2014 Dublin Senior Football Championship was the top club championship competition on the Dublin GAA calendar for 2014. The championship was changed since 2012, with a backdoor system no longer in place, meaning that the championship was played on a knockout basis. All teams knocked out in the first round of the Dublin championship are entered into the Dublin Senior B Championship. St. Maur's were eventual B Championship winners. [3]

The Cavan Senior Football Championship is an annual Gaelic Athletic Association club competition between the top Cavan Gaelic football clubs. It was first competed for in 1888. The winners get the Oliver Plunkett Cup and qualifies to represent their county in the Ulster Club Championship and in turn, go on to the All-Ireland Senior Club Football Championship. Cornafean have won the most titles, having been victorious 20 times. The current Senior football champions are Ramor United after beating Gowna in the replayed final of 2021.

Bernard Brogan is a Gaelic footballer from the St Oliver Plunketts/Eoghan Ruadh club who previously played for the Dublin county team. He is originally from the Battery Heights. From a famous footballing family, he is the son of former All-Ireland winning and All Star player Bernard Brogan Snr and is the brother of former Dublin players Alan and Paul. His uncle Jim was also an inter-county footballer for Dublin. Alongside most of his family, Brogan has attended St. Declan's College on Navan Road.

St Oliver Plunkett/Eoghan Ruadh is a Gaelic Athletic Association club situated on the Navan Road on the northside of Dublin, Ireland. St Oliver Plunkett Eoghan Ruadh senior football team are sponsored by Dublin Bus. Plunketts won the 2006 Dublin AFL Division 2 title and won the 2007 Dublin AFL Division 1 title. Plunketts currently compete in the Dublin Senior Hurling League Division 2 and Dublin Senior B, Division 2 Camogie League.

Mick Galvin is a former Gaelic footballer who played for the Dublin county team and the St Oliver Plunketts club until they were relegated to the Dublin Intermediate Football Championship and then moved to Na Fianna where he won three Dublin Senior Football Championship medals as player and manager. Galvin returned to his former club St Oliver Plunketts/Eoghan Ruadh for the 2009 season. He took over the Plunketts post from Dermot Kelly who retired after leading he led Oliver Plunketts to the 2007 Dublin AFL Division One title and the 2008 Dublin Senior Football Championship final.

Seán Bugler is an Irish Gaelic footballer who plays for Dublin SFC club St Oliver Plunketts/Eoghan Ruadh and at inter-county level with the Dublin senior football team. He usually lines out as a defender.
