2008 European Canoe Slalom Championships

The 2008 European Canoe Slalom Championships took place at the Kraków-Kolna Canoe Slalom Course in Kraków, Poland between May 8 and 11, 2008 under the auspices of the European Canoe Association (ECA). It was the 9th edition. These championships also served as the Olympic qualification for the 2008 Summer Olympics.

The European Canoe Slalom Championships is an annual international canoeing and kayaking event organized by the European Canoe Association (ECA) since 1996. Until 2004 it was held every two years.

Kraków-Kolna Canoe Slalom Course

The Kraków-Kolna Canoe Slalom Course is an artificial whitewater course in Poland, on the south bank of the Vistula River, in the suburb of Kolna, 10 kilometres (6 mi) west of Krakow. It is fed with river water diverted around a nearby dam. The top 120 metres (394 ft) of the course is a flatwater start pool that is covered in winter by a long white tent. Air inside the tent is heated, but the water is cold.

The 2013 European Canoe Slalom Championships took place in Kraków, Poland between June 6 and 9, 2013 under the auspices of the European Canoe Association (ECA) at the Kraków-Kolna Canoe Slalom Course. It was the 14th edition and it was the second time that Kraków hosted the event after hosting it in 2008. The competitions were held over two days instead of three due to floods which forced the organizers to shorten the program. The qualification for individual events consisted of a single run instead of two and the semifinal runs were skipped. Therefore the competitions were decided in two runs instead of four. The women's C1 team event was canceled completely.

The European Junior and U23 Canoe Slalom Championships is an annual international canoeing and kayaking event organized by the European Canoe Association (ECA). The Junior Championships were first held in 1995 and then every two years until 2003. The Under-23 Championships were first held in 2002 as part of the senior championships that year. Since 2004 the junior and U23 age categories are held annually together as part of the same event. Athletes under the age of 18 are eligible for the junior category.

It was the 7th edition of the competition for Juniors (U18) and the 3rd edition for the Under 23 category.

The 2004 European Junior and U23 Canoe Slalom Championships took place in Kraków, Poland from 10 to 12 September 2004 under the auspices of the European Canoe Association (ECA) at the Kraków-Kolna Canoe Slalom Course. It was the 6th edition of the competition for Juniors (U18) and the 2nd edition for the Under 23 category. It was also the first time that the two age categories had a joint European Championships.
