The 2008 Grand Prix SAR La Princesse Lalla Meryem was a tennis tournament played on outdoor clay courts. It was the 8th edition of the Grand Prix SAR La Princesse Lalla Meryem, and was part of the Tier IV Series of the 2008 WTA Tour. It took place in Fes, Morocco, from 28 April until 4 May 2008.
Milagros Sequera was the defending champion, but chose not to participate that year.
Gisela Dulko won in the final 7–6(2), 7–6(5), against Anabel Medina Garrigues.

King partnered with Lourdes Domínguez Lino, but lost in the first round to Sorana Cîrstea and Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova.

Gisela Dulko is a retired Argentine tennis player. Although she enjoyed modest success in singles, reaching a career-high ranking of world No. 26 and winning four WTA titles, her speciality was doubles, where she achieved the world No. 1 ranking and won 17 WTA titles. Partnering with Flavia Pennetta, Dulko won the 2010 WTA Tour Championships and the 2011 Australian Open. She also reached the mixed-doubles final at the 2011 US Open, with Edward Schwank. During her career, Dulko upset a number of top players on the tour, including Maria Sharapova in the second round of Wimbledon in 2009, Samantha Stosur in the third round of Roland Garros in 2011, and Martina Navratilova in the second round of Wimbledon in 2004 and in Navratilova's final Grand Slam singles match.
Ana Ivanovic was the defending champion, but was defeated by Vera Zvonareva in the final 7–6(7–5), 6–2, in a rematch of last year's quarterfinal.

Gisela Dulko was the defending champion, but chose to participate in the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix which was held the same week.
Sorana Cîrstea and Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova were the defending champions. Both were present that year, but competed with different partners.
Cirstea partnered with Maria Kirilenko, but lost in the final to Alisa Kleybanova and Ekaterina Makarova, 6–3, 2–6, 10–8.
Pavlyuchenkova partnered with Aravane Rezaï, but were forced to concede to a walkover before the first round match against Polona Hercog and Ioana Raluca Olaru.
Serena Williams and Venus Williams defeated the defending champions Cara Black and Liezel Huber in the final, 6–2, 6–2 to win the Women's Doubles title at the 2009 US Open.
Maria Kirilenko was the defending champion but lost in the semifinals against Kimiko Date-Krumm.
Kimiko Date-Krumm won in the final 6–3, 6–3 against Anabel Medina Garrigues.
Vania King and Nadia Petrova were the defending champions, both of them were present this year, but played with different partners. King partnered with Zheng Jie and Petrova partnered with Gisela Dulko both lost to Daniela Hantuchová and Ai Sugiyama, in the first round and the semifinals respectively.
Alisa Kleybanova and Francesca Schiavone won in the final 6–4, 6–2 against Daniela Hantuchová and Ai Sugiyama.
Anabel Medina Garrigues and Caroline Wozniacki were the defending champion, but Wozniacki chose not to participate this year. Medina Garrigues partnered with Virginia Ruano Pascual, but they lost in the second round against Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova and Yanina Wickmayer.
Hsieh Su-Wei and Peng Shuai won in the final 6–3, 6–1 against Alla Kudryavtseva and Ekaterina Makarova.
Vera Zvonareva was the defending champion, but lost in the fourth round to Samantha Stosur.
Serena and Venus Williams defeated Květa Peschke and Katarina Srebotnik in the final, 6–2, 6–3 to win the women's doubles tennis title at the 2010 French Open. With the win, they became the sixth and seventh women to complete a non-calendar year Grand Slam in doubles. Additionally, the Williams sisters jointly gained the world No. 1 doubles ranking for the first time, becoming the first sisters to be co-ranked World No. 1 in doubles. The win also gave them their second career Golden Slam in doubles.
Alisa Kleybanova and Monica Niculescu were the defending champions, but Niculsecu chose not to participate that year.
Kleybanova chose to compete with Alexandra Dulgheru. However, they lost to Sorana Cîrstea and Anabel Medina Garrigues in the semifinals.
Timea Bacsinszky and Tathiana Garbin became the new champions, after they won 6–3, 6–3, against Cîrstea and Medina Garrigues in the finals.

Black partnered with Anastasia Rodionova but lost 6–4, 6–4 in quarterfinals against Gisela Dulko and Flavia Pennetta. Huber partnered with Nadia Petrova but lost 7–5, 6–2 in semifinals against Lisa Raymond and Rennae Stubbs.
Victoria Azarenka and Maria Kirilenko won 7–6(4),7–6(8) in the final against Lisa Raymond and Rennae Stubbs.
Nuria Llagostera Vives and María José Martínez Sánchez were the defending champions, but Martínez Sánchez decided to not start this year, due to injury.
Llagostera Vives partnered with Arantxa Parra Santonja but lost in the first round 6–2, 6–0 against Elena Vesnina and Vera Zvonareva.
Gisela Dulko and Flavia Pennetta won in the final against Květa Peschke and Katarina Srebotnik, 7–5, 3–6, [12–10].
Serena Williams and Venus Williams were the defending champions. However, Serena withdrew from the tournament because of a foot injury and Venus chose to participate in the singles event only. Vania King and Yaroslava Shvedova defeated Liezel Huber and Nadia Petrova 2–6, 6–4, 7–6(7–4) in the final. This match was played over two days due to heavy rainfall on September 12.
Sorana Cîrstea and Anabel Medina Garrigues were the defending champions, but Cîrstea decided not to participate.
Medina Garrigues played alongside Renata Voráčová. They lost to Eleni Daniilidou and Michaëlla Krajicek in the quarterfinal.
Alisa Kleybanova and Galina Voskoboeva became the champions, beating Daniilidou and Krajicek 6–4, 6–2 in the final.
Bahia Mouhtassine is a former Moroccan professional tennis player. Her career-high singles ranking is No.139, achieved on 24 June 2002. She is the highest ever ranked player from Morocco.

Andrea Hlaváčková and Lucie Hradecká were the defending champions, but lost in the semifinals to Maria Kirilenko and Nadia Petrova.
Lourdes Domínguez Lino and María José Martínez Sánchez were the defending champions but Martínez Sánchez did not participate on account of her getting married on July 14.
Domínguez Lino played alongside Anabel Medina Garrigues, but they withdrew from the first round due to a thigh muscle strain from Domínguez Lino.
Catalina Castaño and Mariana Duque Mariño won the final 4–6, 7–5, [10–5] against Eva Hrdinová and Mervana Jugić-Salkić.
