The 2008 season was Liam Sheedy's first season in charge of the Tipperary senior hurling team. He was appointed for a one-year term at a meeting of the county board on 25 September 2007. [1] Paul Ormond was the team captain for the year but Eoin Kelly was the playing captain when Ormond wasn't named in the team. [2]

On 27 January, Tipperary won the pre-season Waterford Crystal Cup for the second year in a row after a 3–13 to 1–13 defeat of Waterford. [3] During the National League, Tipperary recorded three wins and two draws to finish second in Division 1B and secure a place in the knock-out stages. Subsequent defeats of Waterford and Kilkenny saw Tipperary qualify for the final in which they defeated Galway by 3–18 to 3–16 to take the title for the 19th time. [4]

In the Munster Championship, Tipperary recorded their first defeat of Cork in Cork since 1923, before winning the Munster title following a 2–21 to 0–19 defeat of Clare in the final. [5] [6] [7] Tipperary's went on to play Waterford in the All-Ireland semi-final where they lost by two points, it was there only defeat of the year. [8] [9] [10]

Liam Sheedy was reappointment as manager for another term in October 2008. [11] [12]

In 2010 Tipperary claimed their twenty sixth All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship title after a 4-17 to 1-18 win against Kilkenny in the final at Croke Park, Dublin on 5 September.

The 2012 season was Declan Ryan's second year in charge of the Tipperary team, the second year of his initial two-year term since succeeding Liam Sheedy. In January the management appointed Paul Curran of Mullinahone as new captain and Pádraic Maher of Thurles Sarsfields as vice captain for 2012 season. On 6 February 2012, forward Lar Corbett announced his withdrawal from the Tipperary hurling panel for the 2012 season due to work commitments. On 13 May 2012, it was announced by Tipperary that Corbett had returned to the Tipperary Senior Hurling panel. On 24 June he made his comeback coming on as a substitute in the first half against Cork in the 2012 Munster Hurling Semi-Final as Tipperary won by 1–22 to 0–24.

The 2013 All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship was the 126th staging of the All-Ireland championship since its establishment in 1887. The draw for the 2013 fixtures took place on 4 October 2012. The championship began on 5 May 2013 and ended on 28 September 2013 with Clare winning their fourth All Ireland title after a 5–16 to 3–16 win against Cork in the replayed final.

The 2013 season was Eamon O'Shea's first year as manager of the Tipperary senior hurling team. On 25 September 2012, he succeeded Declan Ryan as manager. A panel of 26 players was announced in December 2012 to prepare for the Allianz Hurling League. In February Shane McGrath was appointed as captain for the 2013 season.

The 2009 season was Liam Sheedy's second season in charge of the Tipperary senior hurling team. Tippeary won the Munster championship, defeating Waterford 4-14 to 2-16 in the final. They went on to reach the All-Ireland final but lost to Kilkenny 0-23 to 2-22.

The 2021 season was Liam Sheedy's third and final year in charge since returning as manager of the Tipperary senior hurling team, having been previously in charge from 2008 to 2010.

In 2001 Tipperary competed in the National Hurling League and the Munster and All-Ireland championships. It was Nicky English's third year in charge of the team with Tommy Dunne also in his third year as team captain. Finches continued as sponsors of Tipperary GAA.

The 2022 All-Ireland Minor Hurling Championship was the 92nd staging of the All-Ireland Minor Hurling Championship since its establishment by the Gaelic Athletic Association in 1928. The championship began on 5 March 2022 and ended on 3 July 2022.
