Football Club Zenit, also known as Zenit Saint Petersburg or simply Zenit, is a Russian professional football club based in Saint Petersburg. Founded in 1925, the club plays in the Russian Premier League. Zenit are the reigning champions of the Russian Premier League. Previously they won the 2007, 2010, 2011–12, 2014–15, 2018–19, 2019–20, 2020–21, 2021–22 and the 2022–23 seasons of the Russian Premier League, as well as the 2007–08 UEFA Cup and the 2008 UEFA Super Cup. The club is owned and sponsored by the Russian state-owned energy giant Gazprom. The team plays its home matches at the Gazprom Arena. In March 2022, the club was expelled from all European and international club competitions by FIFA and the UEFA due to the Russian invasion of Ukraine. In addition, the European Club Association suspended the team. On 24 May 2023, Zenit became the first Russian sports club with 10 million followers on social media.
The Russian Basketball Super League 1, or Super Liga 1,, formerly known as the Russian Basketball Super League A or the Russian Basketball Super Liga A, is a men's professional basketball league that was the pre-eminent league of Russian professional basketball until 2010. Currently, it is the second-tier division of the Russian professional basketball pyramid. The league is run by the Russian Basketball Federation (RBF).

Sergey Yuryevich Tetyukhin is a former Russian volleyball player. He was born in Fergana, Uzbekistan. He is 1.97 m tall, and plays as passer-attacker. Together with Samuele Papi and Sérgio Santos, he is one of only three male volleyball players who have accumulated four Olympic medals in the course of their long sporting careers. Tetyukhin, however, has the distinction of being the only volleyball player in the world with four Olympic medals who has all three types of those awards, including gold at the London Olympics. He competed at six Summer Olympics, having been the flag-bearer in 2016.

The 1998 Russian Second Division was the seventh edition of the Russian Second Division. The competition was renamed from Russian Second League to Russian Second Division this year. Russian Third League was dissolved this season and Second Division became once again the lowest level of professional football in Russia. There were 6 zones with 119 teams starting the competition.
The 2011–12 Russian Cup, known as the 2011–12 Pirelli–Russian Football Cup for sponsorship reasons, was the twentieth season of the Russian football knockout tournament since the dissolution of Soviet Union. The competition started on 20 April 2011 and finished with the final held on 9 May 2012. The cup winner was won a spot in the 2012–13 UEFA Europa League group stage.
Aleksandr Anatolyevich Butko is a Russian volleyball player, a member of Russia men's national volleyball team and Russian club Ural Ufa, 2012 Olympic Games.
Sergey Makarov is a Russian male volleyball player. He was part of the Russia men's national volleyball team at the 2014 FIVB Volleyball Men's World Championship in Poland. He played for Kuzbass. In 2011, as a part of the national team, Makarov won the World Cup.

The competition started on 13 April 2006 and finished on 27 May 2007, with the final played at the Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow, where Lokomotiv Moscow beat FC Moscow with 1–0 after extra time.
