The year 2009 saw the first Best of Nollywood Awards, recognising achievement in the Nigerian film industry. Ramsey Nouah won Best Actor, Ini Edo won Best Actress, and Izu Ojukwu won the directors' award.

Omoni Oboli Nigerian actress

Omoni Obolilisten  is a Nigerian actress, scriptwriter, film director, producer and digital filmmaker. Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan was the chief host, and the nomination party was held at the State House in Lagos. The red carpet used for the event was aimed to be one of the longest in history.

The 5th Best of Nollywood Awards was held at Dome, Asaba, Delta State on 5 December 2013. Several notable personalities like Juliet Ibrahim, Omoni Oboli and Richard Mofe Damijo were in attendance. The Dark Comedy film Confusion Na Wa won the category Movie of the Year.

The 4th Best of Nollywood Awards was held at Tafawa Balewa Square Auditorium in Lagos, Nigeria. A total of 32 awards were given out to practitioners of the Nigerian film industry. The ceremony was co-hosted by Nollywood actor Nonso Diobi and former Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria, Sylvia Nduka.

The 3rd Best Of Nollywood Awards were held on Friday November 11, 2011 at the Lagoon Restaurant, Lagos. Top musical artist like JJC, W4, Capital F.E.M.I & Adol performed during the event.

Ivie Okujaye Egboh is a Nigerian actress, film producer, scriptwriter, dancer, singer and activist. In 2009, she participated and won the Amstel Malta Box Office (AMBO) reality TV show. She is sometimes called little Genevieve because she resembles actress Genevieve Nnaji. She was awarded Best Young Actor at the 8th Africa Movie Academy Awards.

Femi Jacobs is a Nigerian actor, speaker and singer. He came into prominence for playing Makinde Esho in the film The Meeting, which also stars Rita Dominic and Jide Kosoko. For his role in The Meeting, he received a nomination for Best Actor in a Leading Role at the 9th Africa Movie Academy Awards. He also won the award for Best Actor in a Comedy at the 2015 Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards (AMVCA).

Osas Ighodaro Nigerian actress

Osas Ighodaro is a Nigerian American actress, producer, host and humanitarian. She won the Miss Black USA Pageant in 2010 and founded The Joyful Joy Foundation, raising funds and awareness for the fight against Malaria. Additionally, she co-hosted the 2014 Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards. She played the role of Adanna (Danni) on the soap opera Tinsel, and won Best TV Actress of the Year at the 2014 ELOY Awards. Osas emerged as highest-grossing Nollywood actress of 2018. She was awarded as the “Best Actress in a Drama” in the 2022 AMVCA for her role played in the movie Rattlesnake: The Ahanna Story.

<i>A Private Storm</i> 2010 Nigerian film

A Private Storm is a 2010 Nigerian romantic drama film, co-directed by Lancelot Oduwa Imasuen and Ikechukwu Onyeka. It stars Ramsey Nouah, Omotola Jalade Ekeinde, Ngozi Ezeonu, Ufuoma Ejenobor and John Dumelo. It was premiered on 18 December 2010 at Four Points Hotel, Lekki.

Femi Adebayo Salami is a Nigerian film director, film actor, lawyer, producer and Special Adviser to the Governor of Kwara State on Arts, Culture and Tourism. He is the son of the veteran actor, Adebayo Salami.

Daniel K. Daniel Nigerian Actor

Daniel Kanayo Daniel is a Nigerian television and film actor, model, voice-over artiste and events compere. He is best known for his portrayal of Bossman in the movie A Soldier's Story, for which he won the 2016 Africa Magic Viewers' Choice Awards (AMVCA) and the Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMAA) awards for Best Actor, as well as his roles in the period piece 76, which also starred Ramsey Noah, Chidi Mokeme and Rita Dominic and the light-hearted Mummy Dearest alongside veteran Nigerian actress Liz Benson. He was one of two Nollywood actors inducted into the Academy of Motion Pictures and Science class of 2022.

Blossom Chukwujekwu is a Nigerian actor, who made his professional acting debut in 2009. In 2015, he won the Best Supporting Actor Award at the Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards.

Moses Inwang Nigerian film director (born 1980)

Moses Inwang is a Nigerian film director, producer, editor and screenwriter best known for classic films in the Nollywood mainstream that speak to societal ills and nagging live issues rarely documented in Nigerian movies. Inwang's first outstanding recognition came in 2012 when he directed the psychological thriller Torn, ⁣ also produced by him, and released in cinemas nationwide in 2013. With multiple nominations, award and recognition bagged from that movie, he went on to direct and produce other hits like Damage, Cold Feet, Stalker, Last 3 digits, Alter Ego, Crazy People, American Driver, Unroyal and lastly Merry Men 2; Ayo Makun (AY)’s blockbuster film, which emerged the 2nd highest-grossing movie of 2019 in Nigeria with a sum of 240 million.

<i>Invasion 1897</i> 2014 Nigerian film

Invasion 1897 is a Nigerian movie that re-enacted the historical events that culminated in the February, 1897 invasion, destruction and looting of the ancient West African kingdom of Benin; and the deposition and exile of its once powerful king. The movie which was produced and directed by Lancelot Oduwa Imasuen was released in 2014 and features several Nollywood actors including Segun Arinze, Paul Obazele and Charles Inojie. The plot of the story picks off from the narration of a young prince of Benin, who was arrested and brought to trial for stealing historical artifacts from a British museum and his journey into history to defend himself.

Swanky JKA Nigerian actor

Jideofor Kenechukwu Achufusi is a Nigerian actor and model, known professionally as Swanky JKA. He is best known for his portrayal of Nnamdi Okeke in Living in Bondage: Breaking Free, as well as Neo in Trace TV’s campus drama series Crazy, Lovely, Cool. He won the Trailblazer award at the 2020 Africa Magic Viewers' Choice Awards.

The 2018 Best of Nollywood Awards was the 10th edition of the ceremony, and took place in Kakanfo conference centre in Ibadan, Oyo state on 9 December 2018. The Oyo state governor, Abiola Ajimobi served as the chief host. The event was co-hosted by comedian, Helen Paul and actor, Keppy Ekpeyong Bassey.

The 2019 Best of Nollywood Awards was the 11th edition of the ceremony and took place in the Coronation Hall of the Kano State Government in Kano State on 14 December 2019. Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje was the chief host of the event and the event was co-hosted by actress, Maryam Booth and Gbenga Adeyinka.

The 2021 Best of Nollywood Awards is the 13th edition of the ceremony that took place in Lokoja, Kogi State on 11 December 2021

Colours of deceit is a 2020 Nigeria film released on the 20th of March, it was directed by Aniedi Awah Noba.
