The Americas Zone is one of the three zones of regional Davis Cup competition in 2009.
In the Americas Zone there are four different groups in which teams compete against each other to advance to the next group.
There will be a Round Robin with eight teams. The eight nations will be divided into two pools of four. The top two teams in each pool will advance to the Final Pool of four teams from which the two highest-placed nations are promoted to Americas Group II in 2010. The bottom two teams of each pool of the Round Robin will compete against each other in the Relegation Pool. The two lowest-placed nations are relegated to Americas Group IV in 2010.

The Americas Zone was one of three zones of regional competition in the 1996 Fed Cup.

The play-offs of the 2001 Fed Cup Americas Zone Group II were the final stages of the Group II Zonal Competition involving teams from the Americas. Using the positions determined in their pools, the eight teams faced off to determine their overall placing in the 2001 Fed Cup Americas Group II. The top two teams advanced to Group I next year.
The Group III tournament was held in the Week commencing March 31, in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago, on outdoor hard courts.

The 2016 Davis Cup was the 105th edition of the Davis Cup, a tournament between national teams in men's tennis. It was sponsored by BNP Paribas. From this season's tournament the deciding set of each match would be settled by a tiebreak at 6 games all rather than playing an advantage set until a player or a team were two games clear. Argentina won their first Davis Cup title, after 4 runner-up finishes, defeating Croatia in the final. Federico Delbonis defeated Ivo Karlović in the final match to give Argentina its first Davis Cup title, after a comeback from Juan Martín del Potro against Marin Čilić in the fourth match.
